Give Yourself a Hand!
May is Better Speech and Hearing month and there is no better time to reflect on how the options for children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing have changed over the decades and how your efforts are shaping the positive prospects for these children.
In his 18-minute TEDx Talk, Dr. Karl White, Director of the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) at Utah State University, walks the audience through the ways in which technology and dedicated human effort have combined to potentially make dramatic improvements in the lives of over 12,000 infants born each year with a permanent hearing loss.

These benefits can be extended to an even greater number of infants and toddlers as we continue to expand our periodic hearing screening and follow-up efforts.
So give yourself a hand... as we also applaud your work and join with you in celebrating our shared achievement and commitment to serving children and families.
