Young social enterprises need to focus more on becoming established as businesses rather than just achieving their social aim, as too many ignore the importance of a viable business in fulfilling their mission writes Dan Zastawny.

 

The second annual Social Progress Index, based on the work of Charles Booth in the 1890's, will be released in April and will measure how well 120 countries take care of their citizens.

 

PBS reported on a new project in Colorado aimed at raising awareness of hunger called "hunger through my lens" in which digital cameras were given to people on food stamps to document being hungry America and the images were turned into art exhibits.
