COMMUNITY UPDATES
 

Society and Business Fellow Rachel Pedowitz (MBA/MSW '16) recently accepted a social enterprise marketing specialist position with the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. She will promote accessibility and awareness of early intervention best practices. 

 

Society and Business Scholar Angie Kim (B.A.'14) completed her third Global Microfinance Brigade to Ghana. She worked with several families in Ekumfi Ebuakwa to develop their financial plans and identify business ideas that could be established as social enterprises. 

 

Jonathan Parfrey, Senior Fellow and the executive director at Climate Resolve, worked to successfully update the Municipal Building Code. The code, passed unanimously by LA City Council in December, now mandates cool roofs on all new residential buildings.

In December, Senior Fellow Laura Rubbo traveled to the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland to be the US business representative at an "experts meeting" on corporate social responsibility initiatives and their relationship to national labor inspection systems and the work of the ILO.

 

Senior Fellow Sally Lee recently aided in the launch of Warner Bros. Entertainment's new Corporate Responsibility website.
