Investigative Program Makes Weekly Debut
KGOU listeners who have been enjoying investigative reporting program Reveal on a monthly basis can now hear it every week. The producers, the Center for Investigative Reporting and PRX, are offering new shows weekly beginning this weekend. The first new investigation looks into temp hiring practices and race. Tune in Sundays at 7 a.m.
Whenever a show is added, we have to say goodbye to another, and Reveal is replacing New Dimensions. Our staff and listeners alike have noticed inconsistencies in editorial standards week-to-week, following the death of the show's executive producer and original host, Michael Toms, in 2013. We know some listeners will miss New Dimensions and its many moments of inspiring radio; this decision reflects our commitment to offer consistently excellent programming to the KGOU audience. Contact Program Manager Jim Johnson at programming@kgou.org with questions or comments.

The series is hosted by WLT Art Director Merleyn Bell, and airs Mondays at 11:30 through Feb. 1. For 45 years, Meshack Asare has vividly written and illustrated stories for children that relate to their experiences growing up in Africa. He talks about his journey -- from his childhood in Ghana listening to his grandparents tell folk tales to writing children's books that he wished he could have read -- on this week's World Views. Read his story and tune in Friday at 4 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to hear the interview. Several of his essays are featured in the January issue of World Literature Today, as winner of the 2015 NSK Neustadt Prize for Children's Literature.
