Special Programs for the Holiday Weekend
 Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, KGOU presents two special programs that tell the stories of America's military veterans, We've Never Been the Same, our Sunday Radio Matinee for May 24, and a Hearing Voices special, For the Fallen, on Monday, May 25. We'll also have some great music for a relaxing holiday weekend. All afternoon on Sunday, May 24, KGOU presents highlights from last summer's Jazz in June concerts in Norman. Public Radio Dominates State Journalism Awards
 KGOU won 13 awards and StateImpact Oklahoma won nine in the Society of Professional Journalists - Oklahoma Pro Chapter's recent awards ceremony in Tulsa. Public radio reporters won nearly all the awards in the Radio categories for work done in 2014, and our own Kate Carlton Greer won the coveted Best Reporting Portfolio category, with StateImpact's Joe Wertz as the runner-up. KGOU.org Gets New Look, Now More Mobile
 The KGOU website got an update this week to add functionality for web users on mobile devices. Now you can access any feature on the website, from news stories to the program schedule to music playlists, in a format that fits the screen you're viewing. Take our mini-tour with photos of the different looks and try it out on all your devices at KGOU.org. Improvements to the audio stream player are in the works, so watch for those in the next couple of months.

Still Time to Join Morning Edition's Book Club: Local Discussion June 22
 Join us in reading A God In Ruins for the Morning Edition Book Club -- there's still time to read the book, join the discussion on reddit, and listen to ME's interview with author Kate Atkinson, scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, June 16. Then join KGOU staff and our local power-reader Lori Brooks for an informal gathering on Monday, June 22 at 7 p.m. at Full Circle Bookstore in Oklahoma City. Graphic Novel Spills Secrets of Public Radio Producers
 Have you ever wanted a step-by-step manual on how public radio's master storytellers work their magic? Preferably in comic-book form? A new graphic novel by Jessica Abel, Out on the Wire: The Storytelling Secrets of the New Masters of Radio, shows how producers and reporters create their signature long-form narrative audio, and features interviews with staffers from Planet Money, This American Life, Radiolab and Snap Judgment. The book will be released on August 25, but Amazon is accepting pre-orders now.
