Severe Weather Coverage Takes Precedence
flooded street KGOU partners with local television station KOCO for weather emergency coverage during severe weather outbreaks, and you might have heard KOCO coverage for much of the evening yesterday on KGOU. We do this because our first priority is to public service, with an obligation to provide public safety information in emergencies. With more storms in the immediate forecast, you are likely to hear coverage from KOCO on KGOU  often this spring.

Today the KGOU news team is gathering stories from the storm, and calling out to listeners for your photos and videos that you'd like to share. E-mail them to news@kgou.org or send us a tweet @kgounews. And, it's never too late to prepare as best you can for severe weather; review our Six Ways to Prepare for Oklahoma's Tornado Season.

Reading A God in Ruins by Kate Atkinson
The Morning Edition book club is reconvening to begin reading its second book, and author Gillian Flynn (who wrote Gone Girl) has chosen Kate Atkinson's A God in Ruins. The book follows a man named Teddy who served as a bomber pilot during World War II and never expected to return home after the war. The book is told through Teddy's eyes, and also through the perspective of his daughter and his grandchildren. Read NPR's introduction of the selection and download the reading and discussion guide.

Morning Edition will hold virtual book club discussions each Friday on its Facebook page and on Twitter, and an interview with the author is scheduled for June 16. KGOU will host an actual book club discussion where you can meet other book and public radio lovers. It's scheduled for Monday, June 22 at 7 p.m. at Full Circle Bookstore; stay tuned for more details.

Stay tuned for air dates and times.
