Bombing Anniversary Retrospective on KGOU
The bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995 had a deep and lasting impact on so many in and around Oklahoma. Through a series of in-depth reports and an hour-long documentary, KGOU and our public media partners will share stories -- many of which have previously gone untold -- that illustrate the tragic consequences and lasting effects. Listen for the in-depth reports beginning April 13 in the newsmagazines. The one-hour retrospective debuts Friday, Apr. 17 at 11 a.m., with subsequent airings Saturday, Apr. 18 at 6 p.m., Sunday, Apr. 19 at noon, and on Oklahoma Voices Monday, Apr. 20 at 11 a.m.

Spring Fundraising: How Short Will the Shortest Drive Be?
Hundreds of listener-supporters have heeded our call to get their donations in early, so we can shorten our spring on-air drive. At this writing, with just under $60,000 left to raise of our $180,000 goal, it looks like we will be taking to the airwaves next week to interrupt programs. But it still could be the shortest on-air fund drive KGOU has ever had. Back in the fall of 2012, our on-air drive lasted only two days, with 13 hours of live studio break-ins each day. If we reach the goal in under 26 hours on the air this spring, we can set a new record. Piece of cake, right? If you've already participated, thank you. If not, help us shorten the drive with your contribution. Together, we can make history! If you've given since Jan. 1 you're automatically entered in the drawings we'll hold Monday for tickets to David Sedaris's book reading at Rose State on Apr. 29, and for VIP/Hospitality passes for the Norman Music Festival coming up Apr. 23-25. Get the details for entering, with or without a donation, from our online donation page.

NPR News Series: Race and Policing
Around the country, issues involving race and policing are front and center, and for the first time in a generation, there is an active national conversation about law enforcement, bias and broader social issues. President Obama has addressed some of them, as has FBI Director James Comey. NPR's National Desk explores a number of key themes raised by Obama, Comey and others in a series of stories that began on Morning Edition today and continues this month with reports airing on all NPR newsmagazines. See today's report on gun ownership views among African Americans.

Sunday Radio Matinee: Confronting Hatred 70 Years After the Holocaust
Seven decades later, the Holocaust continues to inform contemporary discussions about hate speech, propaganda, and human rights. Confronting Hatred: 70 Years After the Holocaust brings together a broad range of voices to talk about racism, antisemitism, and the ways in which hatred can grow. We hear various perspectives: from a former skinhead, an imam, a prosecutor for the Rwandan genocide trials, filmmaker Errol Morris, and Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Elie Wiesel. KGOU broadcasts this hour-long radio special, narrated by Morgan Freeman, Sunday, Apr. 5 at noon.
