Morning Edition to Incorporate Marketplace Morning Report
Marketplace Morning Report Public radio networks NPR and American Public Media have begun a collaboration to provide coverage of business and economic news from Wall Street and across the country. APM's excellent seven-minute business news segment Marketplace Morning Report will begin airing Sept. 22 during NPR's Morning Edition.

Marketplace Morning Report is hosted by veteran journalist David Brancaccio, whose work has earned the highest honors in broadcast journalism, including Peabody, Columbia-duPont and Emmy awards. Tune in at 5:51 and 7:51 a.m. weekdays beginning Monday, Sept. 22 for Marketplace Morning Report.

No computer skills are necessary, just the ability to converse with other listeners on the phone and write down pledge information. Coming Up on Oklahoma Voices: Law and Policy
Sonia Sotomayor Oklahoma Voices is KGOU's effort to bring you discussions and forums on a variety of topics in the news, and we have some great shows planned for September. On Monday, Sept. 15 Oklahoma Voices will feature the remarks of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, speaking at the OU Law School.

logo Then, beginning Sept. 22, OKV brings you highlights from the Oklahoma Policy Institute's 2014 Summer Policy Institute. Over several weeks you'll hear forums on the state's budget challenges, campaigns and politics, education issues and more. As always with news coverage, air dates are subject to change, but stay tuned for Oklahoma Voices Mondays at 11 a.m.
 

Sunday Matinee: Women's Rights After the Arab Spring
Egyptian women protestingThe revolutions of the Arab Spring promised greater freedoms for several Middle Eastern countries. But while some freedoms have been gained, stability has been lost. In many cases, it's become more dangerous, especially for women. America Abroad talked with women in Egypt, Turkey and Kuwait for this program, airing Sunday, Sept. 14 at noon as KGOU's Sunday Radio Matinee.
 

An Emerging Voice of Americana (and Oklahoma) 
As a nominee for Best Emerging Artist at next week's Americana Honors and Awards in Nashville, Guthrie resident Parker Millsap is making a name for himself. NPR Music interviewed Millsap and showcased his new release "Truck Stop Gospel".
