The announced retirement of Tom Coburn set off a ripple effect in Oklahoma politics, leading to open seats in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, Oklahoma Corporation Commission, and several state House and Senate seats. Oklahomans head to the polls Tuesday, June 24 to begin the process of filling those seats and many more in primary elections.

Unemployment remains at high levels for teenagers and young adults 16 to 24, with their unemployment rates well over twice the national average for more than six years -- and particularly pronounced for minority youth.
