We're gearing up for Jazz in June tonight, and our own Program Director Jim Johnson appeared on television this morning promoting the 3-day free music festival and one of the musicians' clinics on how to make a cigar-box guitar. Oklahoma Voices: Primary Races to Watch
button The announced retirement of Tom Coburn set off a ripple effect in Oklahoma politics, leading to open seats in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, Oklahoma Corporation Commission, and several state House and Senate seats. Oklahomans head to the polls Tuesday, June 24 to begin the process of filling those seats and many more in primary elections.

Oklahoma Voices has a primary preview on Monday, June 23 at 11 a.m. -- our panel of reporters, pollsters, and political experts analyze the races and issues for use in making your own decision at the ballot box. Tune in for results of the primaries in KGOU newscasts Wednesday morning.
 

David Sedaris Book Signing Tomorrow in OKC
David Sedaris Author and public radio contributor David Sedaris will be in Oklahoma City tomorrow for a book signing at the Barnes & Noble Quail Springs location, 13800 North May Ave. He'll be reading from some of his books, celebrating the release of his latest in paperback, Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls, and signing any of his books, beginning at 7 p.m. More information is available at the Barnes & Noble website.
 

Jazz in June poster 'Jazz in June' Begins Tonight!
Bring a chair, some refreshments, and maybe some rain gear, and join us for Jazz in June this weekend! Tonight is Blues Under the Stars, with Samantha Fish and opening act Dirty Red & The Soul Shakers performing at Brookhaven Village in Norman starting at 7 p.m.

Tomorrow night is Jazz Under the Stars, again at Brookhaven Village, with The Charlie Hunter and Scott Amendola Duo, and Saturday it's Jazz in the Park at Norman's Andrews Park, with headliner Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. Come to any or all of the concerts or sit in on clinics with the musicians -- it's all free and open to everyone. See the whole schedule at the Jazz in June website.
 

NPR News Series: Young and Unemployed
career fair Unemployment remains at high levels for teenagers and young adults 16 to 24, with their unemployment rates well over twice the national average for more than six years -- and particularly pronounced for minority youth. Morning Edition examines the challenges joblessness poses for both the individual and the economy as a whole, and looks at factors, solutions and long-term effects in the series Young and Unemployed, set to begin Monday, June 23.
 

NPR On the Road to the World Cup 2014
USA fans International football's biggest tournament overtakes Brazil and fans worldwide this summer. NPR reporters covering the Cup and the hosting country include Tom Goldman, Lourdes Garcia-Navarro and Russell Lewis. You can travel along virtually with NPR's On the Road Tumblr, where they'll be posting photos and behind-the-scenes trials and travails (Lourdes was mugged!).

And in case you missed it, World Views recently took a look at Rio de Janeiro's favelas and the Brazilian political climate in the background of this sporting event.
