Greetings!
Scene from Parks and Recreation

More love for public radio was evident on the TV show Parks and Recreation recently, with a recurring bit about a fictional public radio station. We hope that KGOU's love for listeners has been evident in our dedication to bringing you news, information and entertainment in 2012, with more to come in 2013!

StoryCorps Launches Military Voices Initiative
Justin and Deanne Cliburn Over the last ten years, 2.4 million men and women have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. While their families know well the challenges of multiple deployments, combat injuries, and long-awaited homecomings, few civilians truly understand their service and sacrifice. StoryCorps, the oral history project preserving Americans' stories at the Library of Congress, is launching a new initiative called Military Voices, to amplify their stories.

The initiative will be featured on Weekend Edition Saturday every month for the next year, beginning with Justin and Deanne Cliburn who recorded their story in Norman about a deployment with the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
