Greetings!

I have some exciting information for this newsletter. First, an exercise program that can be done at home which will help improve your posture and reduce aches and pains throughout your body. Second, many of you know that I have been having difficulty keeping supplements in the office. I have found a way to have my patients order directly from a company so you don't have to worry if "the supplements are in" anymore. Contact the office to get set up to order your supplements so you don't have to worry about running out.

Don't forget to look through our archived newsletters for more information on other subjects. There is a wide range of topics covered including weight loss, avoiding soy, chiropractic care for kids, and low force adjustments. There are many newsletters on the topic of the flu, flu shots, and natural flu fighters since it is that time of year. Also, the office's Facebook page has new information almost daily to help you improve your health.

Lastly, there is an opportunity for you to help out the International College of Applied Kinesiology and receive even more great health information. If you subscribe to their newsletter it will help fund research for the future of Applied Kinesiology. Use my name (Dr. Jonathan Herbert) and city (Hermantown, MN) to receive your discount.

Correct Posture Reduces Pain

Many of my patients who have been into the office in the last month or two have heard me talking about Foundation Training. Foundation Training is an exercise program that can be done by almost anyone to help strengthen the muscles that support the spine, improve posture, and return us to proper moving patterns.

I started Foundation Training about two weeks ago and I am even noticing differences in my posture and my performance in the gym. While I have not gone through the entire workout yet, I felt I could not wait and keep this information from my patients.

Dr. Eric  Goodman, a classmate of mine from Logan College of Chiropractic, has put together exercises that help strengthen the posterior chain of muscles from the base of the skill all the way down the back to the heels. These muscles are commonly weak and even inhibited in many people with chronic aches and pains. By activating and strengthening these muscles, the body is taken from a hunched forward, rolled shouldered position to a tall spine and open chest. This allows better breathing, circulation, and digestion along with the reduced aches and pain.

Among the many problems with society we have become a group that sits too long usually at a computer, desk,  or in a car with poor posture. We have allowed ourselves to become weak in the back and tight in the front which will increase lymphatic congestion and decrease our body's ability to get oxygen to our tissues and get toxins out.

By using Foundation Training, I believe my patients will notice differences in their bodies and find that they are more balanced and feeling better.

For your health,

Dr. Herbert
