As-Salamun Alaykum,
As our efforts continue to achieve our goal, the Management of SIJNY has been working very hard towards procuring a
center for the community in Long Island, and recently went into contract to purchase the Hicksville
Computer Library in Long Island.
Since then, we have received multiple suggestions from community members and well-wishers about alternate potential community center sites. We thank everyone, especially our youths, for having come forward. What will help this community in essence is such unity of all our members which ultimately furnishes positive collaborative efforts to have a promising future.
After having reviewed all our options, the MC has decided to continue with the Hicksville Library project, and having completed the due diligence period we have placed a high degree of confidence on this project, thus are now scheduled to close in March 2016.
As a community, we need to focus our collective efforts on making this project realized. Once this is completed, we will thereafter discuss with the Community members various options to expand our presence in Long Island.
This is a project for all of us, and it needs our combined efforts from all of us. Please assist with your tax deductible contributions via our website or in person with our treasurers.
