We wanted to pass along some general information about the IRA Charitable Rollover. It became law in December 2015, after many years of lobbying and last-minute decisions. It's a good option for people over a certain age who do not need all or a portion of their IRA income, and want to benefit charities, such as your parish communities.
Consider sharing the criteria accordingly with your parishioners:
- Donor must be age 70 or older
- Donor may transfer up to $100,000 directly from IRA to qualified charity (such as your parish)
- Gift may be made at one-time, or multiple times within a single year (as long as total does not exceed $100,000)
- Gift may satisfy all or part of required minimum distribution (RMD)
- Gift may be made at any time, there is no expiration date
Planned Giving PINGs are our attempt to provide you with short, yet important pieces of information about planned giving. We intend to include these in The Cornerstone about once a month. Read More

Wall Raising
Attend the 'Wall Raising'- kind of like a ground breaking. The Wall Raising is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. Father Nick Wichert, the Dean of Pierce Deanery, will offer a blessing.
Parishioners will be provided permanent markers with which to write prayers, messages, well wishing, etc. on the house's framing materials. Frame the House In support of the Wall Raising, 20-30 volunteers are needed for that Saturday to work on the house framing. To volunteer, call Tracey Sorenson, 253-627-5626, extension 104.
It is the hope that volunteers are representative of each of the deanery parishes. The Pope's Jubilee house will be in TPC H4H's community called, 'The Woods' lot #218. The street address is 1006 104th St E, Tacoma WA 98445.

The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated on June 3, the first Friday of June.
"This feast day, which has a wide appeal in popular piety, must be celebrated with particular solemnity in this Holy Year as it calls the People of God to conversion and reparation for sins. It also instills in them love and gratitude to God who guides our hearts in the love and patience of Christ. Finally it strengthens them in the apostolic mission through consecration to Christ and his salvific work" (Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, Celebrating Mercy, 16).
