The Cornerstone
Dear Friends,

ALL ARE WELCOME! Whether you are visiting, been away from the Church for awhile, or are a long- standing parishioner, please know that we are delighted you are here with us at Saint Patrick Catholic Church to celebrate Easter. Like the "Prodigal Father" we welcome you with open arms and hearts . . . whether you join us for a day or for a lifetime.

EASTER is such an incredible event. The moment Life overcomes Death; Joy overwhelms Discouragement; and Hope triumphs over Despair. All because Jesus is Risen . . . because Jesus lives on . . . . And so too will we.

Major life events are the drivers that often lead us to change our lives -- being born, leaving home for the first time, getting married or divorced, the birth of a child, the death or serious illness of friends or family . . . These are all major events that give us the opportunity to re-evaluate and re-orient our lives towards what matters most.

Realization that Eternal Life awaits each of us is a major life event that matters most. And this is what Easter confirms for all of us . . .the promise that Eternal Life awaits. Just as we share Jesus' death on Good Friday, we share in His resurrection on Easter Sunday.

So how will this 2016 Easter celebration of Jesus' victory over death, and all the amazing promises He makes to us in scripture "I came that you might have life to the full, I give you peace the world cannot give, receive my infinite mercy, my yoke is easy my burden is light, receive the gift of everlasting life," change your life?

Our Easter gift to you this year is the book Beautiful Mercy, Experiencing God's Unconditional Love So We Can Share It With Others. We hope this book of short essays on mercy will remind us all of God's infinite love and mercy for us and lead us to a closer relationship to Jesus in this season of Easter.

Happy Easter!

A Lenten Journey

As Lent comes to a close, we are proud of the mindful efforts and sacrifices of our students at Saint Patrick Catholic School. The 6th graders created a video story about their 40 day journey. We hope it inspires you to, "give Lent your full 40" every year!

As Chuck Woods joyfully shared insights each week, his faith grew as did the members of this ministry. We are grateful for his years of service and bless him as he devotes more energy to other efforts in the Parish.

There is a growing practice in the Church of visibly displaying the holy oils in an ambry and placing the ambry where they can be seen so that the faithful can better regard the significance of the oils in the Sacraments.

Support the Dominican Sisters of Tacoma

The First Annual Lenten Fish Fry in support of the Dominican Sisters of Tacoma on March 18, 2016 was attended by over 200 people.

The fundraiser is the parish's support for the Dominican Sisters and takes the place of the traditional ask for donations at the Saint Patrick Catholic School REACH Auction.

If you were unable to attend the event, but would still like to support the Dominican Sisters of Tacoma make your donation today.  Your thoughtful contribution to their continued care is appreciated.

Check out the photos of the event.

Thank you to those who have already fulfilled your Annual Catholic Appeal pledge! The 2015 Appeal is wrapping up and so are final payments.
If you haven't yet fulfilled your full 2015 pledge please do so by April 10, 2016, otherwise Saint Patrick Catholic Church may have to pay the resulting shortage from our parish savings account.

The parish is seeking a full-time Pastoral Associate for Faith Formation, Sacramental Preparation, and Community Life; a part-time Pastoral Assistant for Liturgy and a part-time Pastoral Assistant for Pastoral Care and Funerals.

Saint Patrick Catholic School is also hiring for two positions on the 2016 - 2017 Extended Care Team.

Join us in serving our faith community!
