The Cornerstone
Dear Parishioners and Friends of Saint Patrick Catholic Church,

Saint Patrick Catholic Church & School is introducing Children's Stewardship during the 2016 season of Lent. We plan to continue the Children's Stewardship program year round as a way to help parents teach children to share their time, talent and treasure with God, family, and friends.

On the face of the Children's Offertory envelope, your child can note the good deeds they have accomplished with their talents and reflect on the time they spent in prayer during the week. If your child wants to contribute treasure to the Saint Patrick Catholic Church community, their donation can be placed inside the envelope. At the offertory, the child places the envelope in the collection basket.

Children's Stewardship is a wonderful character shaping program and parents will see a deeper involvement in faith life in their children when they participate. An envelope will be distributed to all children enrolled in Saint Patrick Catholic School and through children's faith formation programs in the parish. If you have not received an envelope or would like additional envelopes, they are available in the vestibule of the church.

During Lent, Saint Patrick Catholic Church & School is participating in the largest and oldest Lenten program practiced by Catholics in the United States known as CRS Rice Bowl.

In 41 years, generations of Catholics have used their Lenten sacrifice to alleviate hunger caused by poverty and have improved the lives of individuals and families in developing countries as well as in their own communities. Let's come together as a community of faith to help those in need. CRS
Rice Bowl collection envelopes and blessed CRS Rice Bowls are available in the vestibule of the church during the Lenten season.

When you pick up a Rice Bowl, grab a Lenten Table Tent too.  The table tent is published by the Seattle Archdiocese with daily reflections focused on Stewardship of Time, for yourself, for mercy and with your family during the season of Lent.  At all Masses this weekend you will hear more about the Stewardship of Time in a Witness Talk from a parish family.

If you have not downloaded Your Guide to Lent in the Year of Mercy for a quick reference on ways of prayer, almsgiving and fasting as we prepare our hearts for renewal in the season of Easter, I invite you to do so today.

Yours in Christ,
Kevin Lovejoy

As always we invite you to share your story or upcoming events for your Saint Patrick Catholic Church affiliated organization or ministry! Send us the scoop! Let us help tell the story and invite our faith community to join together in fellowship and prayer this Lenten season.

A variety of resources re available to parishioners for reflection and experiencing the love and mercy of God.  Consider a Parish Pilrgimage of Mercy or A Day of Mercy and more to celebrate the Jubilee of Mercy.

We in the Social Justice ministry feel especially called during this year of Mercy to create space and opportunities for all the members of our parish to participate in social justice activities that allow our hearts to be touched.

Sometimes pastoral care is a meal train that assists a family such as the Ilacqua's during a difficult time, like a health crisis.

Stewardship of Talent:
We are Called to Serve

We recognize lay leaders in ministry who have shared their god-given talents. Senior Ministry, Military Ministry, Young Professionals are in need of leadership, while CLOW leadership is in need of support. Are you feeling called to serve?
