The winner of the British Council's "Social Enterprise" award on TV8's entrepreneurship show 'doYOUhaveanIDEA?' travelled to Birmingham to learn more about social enterprise projects, business models and potential partners for her project SocialMe.
Ece Çiftçi developed SocialMe to offer social skills training in subjects such as art, music, dance and photography to primary school children from disadvantaged regions.

Ece, British Council'ın hazırladığı bir programla sosyal girisimcilik, is modelleri ve kendi projesi SosyalBen'e olası ortaklılar hakkında daha fazla bilgi edinmek üzere Birmingham'a gitti.
Ece Çiftçi'nin gelistirdiği SosyalBen, gereksinimi olan bölgelerde ilköğretim çağındaki çocuklara resim, müzik, dans, fotoğraf gibi alanlarda sosyal eğitim vermek üzere baslatılan bir sosyal sorumluluk projesi.

Literary Links: Turkey Market Focus at The London Book Fair

The British Council's Cultural Programme for Turkey Market Focus at The London Book Fair brought 20 writers from Turkey to take part in discussions with UK writers, publishers, academics, cultural commentators and readers. The week-long programme included events at the Book Fair, venues across London Liverpool, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
The programme presented a comprehensive view of contemporary literature in Turkey and the UK, enabling writers, industry professionals and journalists to understand more about the challenges and opportunities in both countries and forge cultural and commercial links.
UK writer Maggie Gee visited Turkey a year ago as part of the lead-up activity to Turkey Market Focus. In her blog she writes about her event as part of the programme at The London Book Fair and the literary links between Turkey and the UK.

Edebi İliskiler: Londra Kitap Fuarı'nın Odak Ülkesi Türkiye | |
British Council'ın Londra Kitap Fuarı Odak Ülke Türkiye Kültür Programı çerçevesinde Türkiye'den gelen 20 yazar ile İngiltere'deki yazarlar, yayıncılar, akademisyenler, kültür çalısmacıları ve okurlar bulustu. Bir hafta süren programda Kitap Fuarı'nın yanı sıra Londra, Liverpool, Edinburgh ve Cardiff'te çesitli organizasyonlar düzenlendi.
Programda Türkiye ve İngiltere'deki çağdas edebiyat ile ilgili kapsamlı bir görünüm sunularak, yazarların, sektördeki profesyonellerin ve gazetecilerin her iki ülkede bulunan zorluklar ve fırsatları daha iyi anlayabilmesi, kültürel ve ticari bağların kurulması sağlandı.
İngiliz yazar Maggie Gee, Odak Ülke Türkiye tanıma etkinliği çerçevesinde bir yıl önce Türkiye'yi ziyaret etmisti. Yazar blog'unda bu organizasyonu Londra Kitap Fuarı programının ve Türkiye ile İngiltere arasındaki edebi bağlantıların bir parçası olarak isliyor.

Second phase of
Euroskills training
| |
The second stage of Euroskills Project, was held in March and April, in Bolu and Ankara by the Ministry for EU affairs in cooperation with the British Council.
The negotiation process for EU accession requires specialist expertise and experience. The Euroskills Project aims to improve the communication, presentation and negotiation skills of government personnel with a direct role in the negotiations.
The British Council organised a series of workshops to develop the professional skills of 75 government employees drawn from 12 Ministries.

Euroskills Projesi, AB Bakanlığı tarafından British Council is birliği ile Mart ve Nisan aylarında, Bolu ve Ankara'da ikinci defa düzenlendi.
Avrupa Birliği'yle müzakere süreci özel uzmanlık ve deneyim gerektiriyor. Euroskills Projesi ile müzakere sürecinde görevli kamu personelinin iletisim ve sunum becerilerinin arttırılması hedefleniyor.
