CLEP Testing

Students who want to obtain college credit on subjects which they are already well-educated, can now take specialized testing at Alvin Community College. The college now provides College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) testing, which allows students to earn credit after taking an exam on certain courses. Each exam costs $100 which is much less than paying to attend a college course. ACC started offering the exams this month and students can choose to take the CLEP tests for 33 different courses including : Government, History & Social Sciences, Composition & Literature, Science & Mathematics, Business and World Languages. Bilingual students can also earn up to 14 credits through the CLEP tests. All of the tests are online and students must take them at the college Testing Center. Each exam takes approximately 90 minutes. Funding for CLEP exams is available to certain veterans and active military.
Testers should register and pay for exams through CollegeBoard. Once registered, they should contact the Testing Center to set up an appointment to take the exam by calling 281-756-3526 or email  testing@alvincollege.edu.
