Message from the President of ACC

June has been a very busy month for the campus as we have focused a great deal of energy on hiring new employees. A combination of 29 ACC faculty, staff, administrators and professionals opted to exit the college through the exit incentive plan, providing an opportunity for a reorganization of the administration and hiring of several new and many replacement positions.

At the June 25 Board of Regents meeting, the Board approved the hire of the new Executive Director of Human Resources, Ms. Karen Edwards. Ms. Edwards brings a wealth of experience in human resources from many areas including community college, university and corporate America. We look forward to her joining our team.

During the same meeting, Dr. Stacy Ebert was appointed as the Director of Allied Health. Ebert has held a similar position at the college in the Continuing Education department and will now undertake the role for the credit programs.

We plan to take additional hires to the Board of Regents during the July 30 meeting, including Vice President of Student Services, Vice President of Instruction, Technical Dean, and Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. There are also several faculty, professional and TSCM hires underway.

It has been a busy summer so far. I hope many of you will be able to join us for the 4th of July celebration, the two remaining Alvin Live shows and the children's summer theater performance. Thank you for your support of ACC!

Fins Up!
