ACC Volleyball Wins GCIC Tournament

The Alvin Community College Coed volleyball team recently won another championship title at the Gulf Coast Collegiate Consortium Sports Day tournament on February 28.

 

The team has won the last five championships eight of the last 10. 

In other sports, the ACC 3-on-3 basketball team also finished second place in GCIC while the flag football team also finished second place.

 

"It was a very good day for ACC and our students presented themselves with class, sportsmanship, and teamwork," ACC Coach Gary Coffman said.

 

In the round robin pool volleyball tournament, ACC defeated San Jac Central, Lone Star College-Montgomery, Wharton County Junior College and Lee College.

 

In the championship match ACC defeated College of the Mainland in the best 2 out of 3 games; 25-16; 23-25; 15-7.
