Greetings!

It is a very special month for us here at KDL because we have the honor of celebrating our 80th birthday. We are incredibly proud that KDL has been able to provide innovative programs and services for our customers for 80 great years and we hope you will come out and celebrate with us!

During the week of October 10, each KDL branch will pick a special time to celebrate the occasion by setting out free treats and refreshments for anyone who stops by. Each branch will also have a section of a KDL birthday banner available to color or sign. The completed birthday banner will be posted on the KDL
website for all to see. So strap on your party hats and come join in the celebration.

Here's to 80 more wonderful years,

Robert R. Galloway Memorial Donation
Book

Libraries have the power to change lives for the better and Robert Galloway is a prime example of their positive impact. Instead of finishing the eighth grade, Robert worked to help support his family during the Great Depression. Despite his inability to continue his formal education he did not lose his love for learning. He took correspondence classes and spent hours in the local library reading financial journals. He was able to become an industrial engineer and set up a financial plan that is still supporting his wife.

His daughter, Patsy Allen, recognized the importance of the library in her father's life and gave a gift of stock in honor of him to help KDL provide the same opportunities to grow, learn and expand to others, just as her father's local library did for him. Think about the ways that a local library has impacted your life or the life of someone you know and donate to KDL to help them continue to touch lives.
