This spring we are excited to bring you KDL Reads, a community reading event centered on the book Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson. This powerful memoir chronicles Woodson's coming of age amid the backdrop of the turbulent 1960's. Woodson finds her voice and tells her story through beautifully rendered poems steeped in memory and with rich family ties. We hope that reading this book and engaging in our programming can help encourage you to find your voice. Programming for adults this spring will include Memoir Writing, Calligraphy, Bookbinding and Journal Making, Every Family Has a Story, Show and Tell and more.
