Sunday After-Worship Gathering
As you know, we are beginning a process of search for a new pastor. Part of that process includes a congregational assessment. Through discussion and dialogue, we will evaluate how things are now and what we would like our future to look like. Our time together will be an exciting one. After ten or fifteen minutes for fellowship, the first part of the hour or so will be spent in a large group and then breaking off into smaller sections so that everyone will have an opportunity to speak and to share. This Sunday I will begin by sharing an overview of the process, the kind of important information that is needed for an effective Church Information Form (CIF), and how we can best achieve it. Quality CIFs are most likely to attract good matches. That quality comes from the grass roots up. While it is critical to have creative and motivated persons on the Pastor Nominating Committee, it is even more critical for them to have input from as broad a congregational base as possible. The CIF should not be the product of a few, but a result of the in-depth reflection of the many.Session has adopted a tentative schedule. If we find some parts of the process need more time, it will be taken. As with baptism "we move forward without haste but also without undue delay" :
June, July and August - will be months of information gathering. September - will be CIF writing October - will be the search (and find :-)
We shall try to use this time after worship to maximize participation. There will be other times and locations for sharing made available as the summer moves along.
Pastor Charles

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance:
2013 Spring Storms
God will cover you with pinions, and under God's wings you will find refuge. -- Psalm 91:4
Together -- we will bridge the GAP (Give/Act/Pray). It is wide but our faith is deep and our strength is endless through Jesus.
Please pray for those who survived the storms and will face hard days ahead, and for those who mourn loved ones lost. Pray also that the response of the church will be an example of the faithful love of God.
If you would like to help with a monetary gift, you may drop your gift in the offering plate at church (please write "Presbyterian Disaster Assistance DR000015" on the memo line of your check), or you may give directly to PDA by mailing your gift to Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), PO Box 643700, Pittsburgh, PA 15264-3700.

Bible School June 24 - 28
I will be at Faith before and after church this Sunday to meet with anyone interested in helping this year. Right now I especially need people of any age willing to paint and cut out cardboard props and make decorations.
As part of the international flavor of this fun fair, children will learn about a different country every day. England, Australia, Mexico, Japan and Zimbabwe are the countries covered. We need to create a small display for each country. The VBS books have ideas and simple backgrounds for each country. If a couple of people would be interested in organizing this, I would really appreciate it!
The donation sign-up will be posted this Sunday. The following donations are needed for snack time (specific amounts and details will be on the sign-up sheet): Cool Whip, dried cranberries, raisins, graham crackers, white frosting, colored sprinkles, fresh strawberries, gold fish crackers, mini pretzels, honey graham cereal, plain M&Ms, string cheese, tortilla shells, grated cheddar or Monterrey cheese, baggies, napkins, small snack plates, 7 oz cups.
Volunteer schedule
Sunday, June 9th everyone interested in helping
Sunday, June 16th planning meeting for creating the main stage.
Sunday, June 23rd orientation and information for leaders.

Aquarium Caretaker Needed
Our church (and our fish!) need an aquatic-minded person who has the expertise to lovingly clean and tend the fish tank in the church office, OR to teach Vicki how to do it. New filters have been purchased which can keep the tank cleaner longer, once we can figure out how to install them. Please call the church office, if you are interested in being a fish tank mentor.
