 Holy Week Activities

Maundy Thursday Worship Service:  March 28 at 7:00 p.m. here at Faith Church.  The Rev. Dr. Teri Ott will be leading the service, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Ott assisting.  Communion will be served by intinction and the choir will sing.

Following the Maundy Thursday service, there will be a Prayer Vigil from 8 p.m. on Thursday until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, as we consider the last hours of Jesus' life on earth.  There is a sign-up board near the office and a number of half-hour time slots. Let us keep awake!  Let us keep vigil!

 
 
Eastertide Breakfast  
On Easter Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. (9:00 a.m. for choir members) there will be an Eastertide Breakfast in the Social Hall. Come and enjoy breakfast casserole, coffee cake, rolls, or donuts, and coffee or juice.  Free-will offerings will be taken and the proceeds will support our youth missions.  A sign-up sheet is still up on the office door.
 
Christian Education
  
Adult Bible StudyThe Adult Bible Study Class will meet in the Bride's Room (across from the chapel) each Sunday at 9:15 a.m. after Easter.  Lessons for the month will be concerned with the Resurrection Hope as described in Luke and in Paul's letter to the Thessalonians.  All adults are welcome to attend.  Lessons 5 and 6 can be found in the classroom cabinet, and will be studied on April 7. 

Faith & Life ClassCome and watch a PBS DVD about the history of American Abolitionism prior to the Civil War.  Tom Best will present and lead discussions over the various episodes.  Our particular focus will be on the role of Christian philosophy within this movement.  This will cover April 7, 14, 21, & 28.

Sunday School for ChildrenWill resume at 9:15 a.m. on April 7.

Junior and Senior High Youth: Will meet Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. to prepare for Youth Sunday on April 28.

Indian Taco Supper at Heritage

On Monday, April 8 Heritage Presbyterian Church will have their Indian Taco Supper. Curbside take-outs will be available from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.  Those who prefer to eat in the Hertitage Dining Room will be able to do so from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Cost is a $6.00 donation, with the proceeds going to benefit Heritage Church. 


 
Breeze Into Spring ...

OSF Holy Family Medical Center Auxiliary presents the Breeze into Spring just in time for Easter on Friday, March 29th from 8:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m. in the West Lobby of OSF Holy Family.  The Bake Shop will offer delicious homemade breads, cakes, pies and cookies.

Jewelry Is Fun (9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) will have rings, watches, necklaces, bracelets, scarves, and tons of other jewelry and accessories - ALL for $5.00 each!

Spring Flower Bulbs : We will be taking orders for flower bulbs including a variety of lilies, glads, wildflowers, strawberries, tomatoes, and much more.

Fleece Blanket Raffle : Buy a chance to win a beautiful, hand-tied blanket. Drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29th.  Need not be present to win!  Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.

The Hoppers Gospel Concert: On Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., the well-known Gospel Group "The Hoppers" will be performing at The Dahl Chapel and Auditorium on the Monmouth College campus as part of the Maple Leaf Community Concert Series.  Known as America's Favorite Family of Gospel Music, The Hoppers are favorites on the Gaither Homecoming series.  Tickets are available at The Buchanan Center for the Arts.  Seating is limited so people will want to purchase tickets quickly.  Tickets are $25.00.

 
One Great Hour of Sharing

On Easter Sunday the offering will be taken for the One Great Hour of Sharing. Special envelopes are in the pews.  Please make checks out to Faith United Presbyterian Church.

Ecumenical Lenten Lay Breakfast on Good Friday

Tomorrow is the final in a series of Ecumenical Lenten Lay Breakfasts sponsored by the Warren County Ministerium and hosted by Strom Center. Rolls and/or toast, juice, and coffee are available at 6:30 a.m., with the service starting at 7:15 a.m.  and ending around 7:45 a.m.  Heritage Presbyterian Church will lead the service.

 
Church Clean-Up - April 17, 2013

Save the date!  The Trustees have set Wednesday, April 17, from 5 - 8 p.m. for an all-church clean-up. More information to follow.

 
PW Yard Sale - May 3 & 4

Spring is here! Underneath the snow!  That means spring cleaning (once you put the snow shovels away), and you can begin looking around the house for items that you may no longer need and start setting them aside for the annual yard sale.  It will take place in the Social Hall on Friday, May 3 and Saturday May 4.  More details to follow.
