Mission Emphasis for March
Our mission emphasis for the month of March will be One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS). There will be Minutes for Mission and special bulletin inserts on different agencies within the Presbyterian denomination, such as the Presbyterian Hunger Program, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, and Self-Development of People, which benefit from the One Great Hour of Sharing funds. On Palm Sunday, March 24 and Easter Sunday, March 31, there will be special OGHS offering envelopes in the pews. The children will be saving for an offering using the fish coin banks, which they will turn in on Palm Sunday, March 24. The adults may turn in their offering envelopes on Easter Sunday.

Wednesday Night Live
When I was asked to take over WNL for Margie, I will admit I was very nervous. I have learned so much during the past 7 weeks. The most amazing thing I have learned is what a wonderful congregation of volunteers we have. So many people have stepped up and helped me in so many ways. It is a beautiful thing to see people working together to provide a positive faith experience for children. I am so thankful to everyone who has volunteered their time. I also want to apologize in advance if I have accidentally left off a name of anyone who has helped. It is hard to believe that WNL is over for the 2012-2013 year. We ended with a Carnival on March 20th, and the children had a great time. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children and grandchildren. As we say at the end of every WNL: "God is Good. All the time. All the time, God is Good!" Thank you! Debbie Dingman

"All Things Possible Tour" - April 7
John and Angie Louden, of Macomb, IL are in the latter stages of adopting a 2-year-old boy from China. They hope to travel in the next 6-8 weeks to pick him up and bring him into their family.
International adoption is a rather expensive venture and they are hosting Mark Schultz's "All Things Possible Tour" with Aaron Shust and Jonny Diaz as a fund-raiser at the Memorial Auditorium in Burlington, IA on April 7, 2013. Mark Schultz is a very popular contemporary Christian artist with a huge fan base who was himself adopted and has a huge heart for adoption and for orphans around the world. Look for one of their posters in the social hall.

Maple Leaf Concerts: Divapalooza tonight!
Imagine Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, and Bette Midler, all on one stage! Divapalooza promises to give you a sense of that experience on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the Dahl Chapel and Auditorium of Monmouth College. Three outstanding singers backed up by guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, present a show called "Rippin' the Roof Off." Janelle Lauer tears it up as the explosive rhythm and blues powerhouse; Jane Pini is the embodiment of a true 60's rock & roll acid queen; Lynne Rothrock hits the perfect balance between elegant, beautiful vocals and saucy, hilarious stage banter. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable night of musical energy and artistry.
And on Thursday, April 11, 2013, also at 7:00 p.m. at Dahl Chapel, you can enjoy "America's Favorite Family of Gospel Music" -- The Hoppers. They are favorites on the Gaither Homecoming series. The Hoppers achieved tremendous success through the first three decades of their gospel music ministry, the era of the 90's began a new leg of their journey with the addition of a soprano to the group which led them to a streak of number one songs including: "Milk and Honey," "Here I Am," and "Anchor to the Power of the Cross."
For those without season tickets, the cost is $25. Contact the Buchanan Center for the Arts at 734-3033.

Searching for a DVD Player
The CE committee is in need of a working DVD player with a remote. We would use it for Adult Education, Sunday School, Youth group and VBS. It would be available for any group in the church who needed to show DVDs. None of the ones currently in the church work or they don't have a remote to access menus. So if you have a spare player in the spare bedroom, consider donating it to the church.
