$50,000 Challenge Grant and Curatorial Update
|
We would like to thank all of our wonderful members who continue to support the SS United States Conservancy's mission to preserve the historical legacy of America's Flagship.
As we continue into March, our $50,000 Challenge Grant is still underway! A donation of any size helps us to preserve, restore, and expand our already incredible curatorial collections. As of this week, we have already raised $25,625 - we are over half way there!
The Conservancy continues to build its permanent collection of art, artifacts, and archival resources from the SS United States. We are in particular need of passenger lists, either originals and scans, so if you have any in your possession, we would be delighted to hear from you.
We also hope to make contact with SS United States collectors who may be interested in potentially loaning items for future temporary exhibitions curated by the Conservancy. If you might be willing to help, please send us an email.
We will begin professionally digitizing some of our holdings later this year, so keep an eye out for how to access our online database of treasures from America's Flagship. We are excited to begin sharing our collections more widely. Again, thank you so much for helping us continue to expand our preservation and curatorial programs.
