Dear Chapter Members, Friends and Supporters:
As mentioned in our August 7th e-Update, the New York Chapter has been planning a day of public interaction at key locations throughout the New York City Metro area to pass out newly-designed large-format postcards and to talk up the public about the benefits of bringing the SS UNITED STATES back home to New York.
Therefore, please join us on Thursday, September 4th, for our:
Day of ACTION
~ and ~
Pier-side Reception Aboard the Yacht Lexington
We need volunteers to help us hand out the beautiful and informative new postcards in two shifts, morning and evening, on September 4th.
In the afternoon, from 2pm to 4pm, there will be a reception and press event at the yacht LEXINGTON, moored at East 23rd Street and East River. Light refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP* to this email if you are available to assist us during: - Morning rush hour shift;
- The event at the Lexington;
- Evening rush hour shift;
- All day.
* Space aboard the Lexington is limited; please RSVP if you plan to attend the reception.
As we are planning to greet people throughout the NYC/TriState Metro Area, please let us know which borough or county you are in and if there is a key spot (transportation hub or popular tourist attraction) in your area from which you can hand out the new printed material promoting the SS UNITED STATES's possible return to NYC.
To help make this event a success and to improve the chances that the SS UNITED STATES returns to New York Harbor, she needs your help.
