SOS: Act Now to Save America's Flagship

As we begin week 4 of our SOS Campaign, we also commemorate the 101st anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic.  Had the SSUnited States encountered the iceberg that felled theTitanic, we like to think that "America's Flagship" - the safest and most technologically advanced passenger ship ever built - would have sunk the iceberg!

However, the SSUnited States is approaching her own metaphorical iceberg - funds must be raised this spring to keep her afloat until a restoration and redevelopment plans are finalized, or she, too, will be lost forever.  We need "all hands on deck" to help ensure that the SSUnited States can turn in time.

We are so encouraged by our progress so far - during the campaign's first three weeks, we've raised almost $64,000!  Our grassroots supporters hail from all 50 US states and over 22 countries, a testament to how many thousands of lives this ship has touched.

Thanks so much for your continued help in spreading the word and joining the effort. Those of you in the New York and Northern New Jersey area, please consider joining us for a very important RALLY IN HERALD SQUARE in mid-town Manhattan this Friday - details are below. Also, if you haven't already done so, please become a Conservancy member, contribute to our interactive and innovative crowdfunding campaign at SavetheUnitedStates.org, attend our benefit events, and volunteer.

We can't thank you enough for your continued support!
