As we wrap up Week 2 of our SOS Campaign, we would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the effort. We have raised almost $40,000 in less than two weeks! With your continued support, we will Save Our Ship!
We are also proud to release the next chapter of our wonderful new film, SS United States: Made in America. Director Bob Radler has created a powerful portrait of the ship's legacy and importance: Please enjoy and please share!
Finally, there are some great opportunities this spring to connect with others while providing crucial support for the SS United States. Scroll down for details on an important (and festive!) dinner event near Washington DC on May 3rd. Tickets can now be purchased HERE.
Thanks so much for your continued help in spreading the word and joining the effort. If you haven't already done so, please become a Conservancy member, contribute to our interactive and innovative crowdfunding campaign at SavetheUnitedStates.org, and volunteer.

Made in America: Chapter 4 Now Online!
|
The newest chapter of our fabulous five-part documentary film, SS United States: Made in America, is now online! This chapter covers her many years in layup, including her darkest days in the late 1980s and early 1990s when her interiors were stripped bare. We encourage you to share the film's chapters with your friends, family and colleagues. During this critical stage in our quest to secure a sustainable future for the SS United States, this film provides a terrific way to help spread the word about the ship's plight and potential. Let's make sure that the SS United States' "Darkest Days" are behind her!The first four chapters of the film are available on the Conservancy's website and can be viewed HERE. Stay tuned for the fifth and final chapter next week!

Thank you to New "Ship Owners"
|
The number of "ship owners" on our SaveTheUnitedStates.org campaign site is growing daily. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful stories of your own personal connections to the ship. Here are a few new "ship owners": click on their images to the left to visit their profiles on SaveTheUnitedStates.org:
"I work as a captain of a US flagged merchant vessel and hope someday to be able to visit the Big U. A great thanks to everyone involved with the Conservancy for all your efforts to save our flagship." - Captain Tim Alfson "As a life-long historic preservationist, I support the efforts of the Conservancy and hope to see this grand ship restored to her full glory!" - In Memoriam of my Parents, Michael & Eleanor Holt Mahonchak "As someone who works on big ships, I have always been impressed seeing her in person. Unfortunately, so far, that has only been tied up to a pier rusting away, but hopefully this will help to change that." - Michael Murphy
