It's All About people
The Essence of the Gospel
Anyway you look at it, growing churches is hard work! Those who have never held a church office or served as a ministry leader may not realize the many meetings, concerns, phone calls, and prayers that go into to pulling it all together. Every week pastors run through a gauntlet of details to help organize facilities, people and money to bring blessing, healing and hope to those who attend. To be sure, the blessings come from God, but pastors and church leaders are key players who help make it happen. [ Read full article here ]
Distracted by Fear
The Adventist Message is One of Hope and Assurance
It's easy to be distracted by religious "eye-candy." You know, wild-eyed predictions about the future, the Pope and Armageddon. It's easy to get caught up in the proclamations of passionate preachers who want us to memorize prophetic charts and stock up food and supplies for the fall of America.

In contrast we are told: "The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8, NLT).
The Irreverent Christian
The Problem With Pop-Christianity
I think I've finally figured out what's missing among many of us who claim to follow Christ. For months I've had this nagging conviction that much of what we call "Christian" isn't really so. Yet, I haven't been able to identify why until now. It troubles me greatly that instead of being known by our love, that we are often more known for what we hate! [ Read more here ]
Dining With a Doc: Carmichael, Calif.
Focus on Health
Typically when we go to the doctor, the amount of time we get to actually see them is very limited. Imagine being able to listen to a rheumatologist, cardiologist, or other specialist talk about their profession and their day-to-day challenges for an hour or so? Over a period of months the Carmichael Seventh-day Adventist Church has featured a number of physicians who have been able to share their knowledge and anecdotal stories about their specialities. What Adventists Believe
Getting to the Core
This section features a core belief of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is one of many Christian denominations. The name comes from the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath and a belief in the second coming (advent) of Jesus. Adventists attend church on Saturday-joining together for worship, for fellowship and for Bible study. The Bible is the source of our Christian beliefs.

The Adventist Church welcomes all people to their worship services. Formal membership includes being baptized by immersion, symbolizing our union with God, the forgiveness of sins, and our desire to enter into a new life. The most important function of the church is to demonstrate the love of God and to proclaim hope for people in a troubled world. Church membership is our way of declaring that we need God and each other if life is to be meaningful. (Ezekiel 36:26; 1 John 4:7; 1 Corinthians 12:14-26)
