Protect Your Special Event, Family & Guests
Wedding Insurance Summertime is filled with social gatherings from community festivals to regattas and fundraisers to weddings. If you organize family, business or community events, you know how much planning is involved to make the occasion both safe and special for everyone. Even with the most careful planning, unexpected situations can arise that you might not be prepared for... we can help!

Wedding Insurance Your wedding is a magical day that you hope will be perfect. Sometimes reality has other plans. No matter how carefully you plan your wedding day, circumstances beyond your control may cause you loss or hardship. That's why it's a good idea to protect your special day with wedding insurance. There are two types of event insurance to consider.

Party favor Event Cancellation Insurance, often referred to as "wedding" insurance, can be used to cover a 50th anniversary party, a bar mitzvah, a graduation party or any special occasion you might be planning. It is designed to provide financial protection if you have to cancel or postpone a gathering due to adverse weather and natural disasters such as hurricanes. Most policies also provide coverage for cancellation due to the death, illness or serious injury of a key participant in the event, such as members of the immediate family. Also, if an officiant, such as a minister or rabbi, or a key vendor, like the caterer, florist or photographer, does not show up, you can recover some of the costs.

Bowen_s Wharf Seafood Festival Special Liability Insurance protects against bodily injury and property damage claims arising from operations, premises, products advertising and personal injury liability including alcohol-related accidents caused by a vendor or guest that may arise during any covered special event. In order to qualify, events must meet the following criteria:
  • Event attendance must be fewer than 12,000
  • Event days must be consecutive
  • The event has a maximum of 10 consecutive event days (excluding set-up / tear-down)
  • The event must be held in a single location
  • That location must not be owned by the named insured
Adding event insurance coverage to your pre-event "To Do" list will literally insure your peace of mind during your special event and just may save you a very long post-event "To Do" list too!

Give us a call at 401-846-9629 while planning your special day. In any event, let us make sure that you and your guests are protected. We're here to help!

June is National Safety Month
National Safety Month 2016 Safety is no accident. It's a choice we need to make throughout our entire lives. Whether it's driving without passengers as a newly licensed teen, finding alternatives to prescription painkillers in middle-age or fall-proofing the bathroom as an older adult, we're all empowered to make safe decisions for ourselves and those we care about. According to Injury Facts 2016, about 136,053 people died from unintentional-injury-related deaths in 2014. That's 136,053 times someone's ordinary day turned tragic. Often, these tragedies happen when least expected - during a vacation, while doing chores at home or while driving across town. The National Safety Council encourages everyone to be aware of hazards related to leisure and recreational activities and take proper safety precautions. Each week in June, the NCS will be providing resources highlighting a different safety topic:
  • Week 1: Stand Ready to Respond
  • Week 2: Be Healthy
  • Week 3: Watch Out for Dangers
  • Week 4: Share the Road Safely

Visit the NSC website for more information.

Sky Watch: June 2016
Saturn On June 3, Saturn will be at Opposition and its face fully illuminated by the Sun on its closest approach to Earth. This is the best time to view and photograph the ringed planet which will be visible all night long. The planet Mercury reaches its greatest western elongation from the Sun on June 5; look for the planet low in the eastern sky just before sunrise. The full "Strawberry" moon-- named by Native American tribes because it signaled the time of year for gathering ripening fruit-- will be on June 20. The Summer Solstice, when the North Pole, tilted toward the Sun, reaches its northernmost position in the sky directly over the Tropic of Cancer is also on June 20. This is the first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
