Bookstore Used book sale
You would like to sell your class books?  In the cafeteria on Tuesday, January 13th from 11:00 to 14:00, a used book sale will be held in the cafeteria (flea market style). Bring your books and some change for the buyers.
If you are looking for used books, drop by the cafeteria before you go to the bookstore. Some good deals may be had.

 

RTC OPUSSTUDENT ID - RTC/OPUS cards 
SLC student ID cards are your OPUS cards.  If you do not have yours yet, or need to replace yours ($10 fee for a retake), drop by room 272 from Monday, January 12th to Thursday, January 15th.

Tournée Universitaire
Wednesday, January 28, 2015 - 11:30 to 13:30.

Meet university representatives from various institutions such as Bishop's, McGill, Concordia, HEC Montréal, McGill University, Polytechnique Montréal, Université Laval, Université de Montréal, Ottawa University, Université de Sherbrooke, UQAM, UQAR, UQO and UQTR.

Stands will be located on the main floor around the central staircase. This event happens once a year. You do not have to be graduating to take advantage of this opportunity. Visit their university web pages to view programs, etc. and be ready to get the information you need.

Volunteers Needed

La course Polar Hero (présentée par la Fondation Sportera) sera à Québec le 21 Mars 2015 (Base de Plein Air de Sainte-Foy). De ce fait, nous avons pensé à vous pour que vous puissiez jouer un rôle majeur dans le succès de notre évènement.
Nous savons que des élèves/étudiants doivent réaliser des heures de bénévolat au cours de leur scolarité. Nous pouvons leur offrir la chance de réaliser cela en étant présent sur notre évènement festif dans lequel ils en tireront une grande expérience mais aussi de nombreux cadeaux (Tuques offertes, courses des bénévoles, goodies, ....).

Si vous désirez créer une équipe de bénévoles pour animer un obstacle du parcours, la zone de ravitaillement, remettre les médailles aux coureurs,... ou bien si vous avez des questions relatives à l'évènement, nous sommes à votre entière disposition.

La course Polar Hero en bref :
POLAR HERO est une course à pied de 5+ km incluant 25+ obstacles à franchir en plein hiver. Seul ou en équipe, l'exigeant parcours de cette course s'engage à tester la force, l'endurance et la résistance de chacun des participants. La nature, elle, s'occupe du reste !
Débutants ou confirmés, venez briser la glace au cours de cet événement festif et unique au Canada.

Within 24 to 48 hours you will be matched with a peer tutor that you can meet as many times as you want, free of charge. Please be advised that tutoring is offered in a limited amount of subjects. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OPEN HOUSE
Open House Wednesday, January 21, 2015

If you like meeting people and helping out, we would love to have you on board! We need volunteers to answer questions, talk about their experience and show visitors around.

Parents and future students will be with us from 18:30 to 21:00. We will be meeting a bit earlier to go over the various tasks and will make sure you don't go hungry! As usual, we will have a pizza dinner for our volunteers.

You are what makes St. Lawrence a great place to be and we would be happy if you could be part of this event. If you are available, please send a MIO to Joanne Gosselin.

Do you want to improve your grades? Can't get an appointment at the English Writing Workshop? Then bring your work to the Peer Tutor Drop in Service. The Peer Tutor Drop in Service will be offered until the last day of classes. This service is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:10-14:00 in Room 340 (near the side exit).

Online Booking!

SLC students may now book appointments directly online for counselling services!

 

The link was made available on your portal (latest news and documents and messages intended for you). 
  • You will receive an e-mail confirming your booking. 
  • Appointments will no longer be taken directly with Nicole Anne. 
  • You will be able to see last-minute cancellations (if there are any) and book right on the spot. 
  • You can book a 15, 30, or 45-minute appointment depending on your needs (career counselling, information, quick question, loans and bursaries, etc.). 
Nicole Anne Daigle offers educational and career counselling 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday). Her office is located in the library (room 254). 

 

Jeunes Explorateurs

 

A job-shadowing activity for all CEGEP students. 
Short information session on the program and the registration process on Tuesday, January 20th at 12:15. 

Room to be determined (information will be available on your portal in Latest News a day before). 

The deadline to register online to take part in Jeunes Explorateurs is January 30.

Need Help with Online Applications?

Wanted to register for the SAT?

If you wanted to register for the JANUARY 24,2015 test date, you may still register late for the waitlist status. You can register waitlist up until 5 days before the actual test date (late fees apply). For more information, click on the following link: Register waitlist status.

Dental Aptitude Test
Deadline January 15, 2015
Students applying to dentistry programs in Québec this year should be aware that 2 out of 3 universities will require that you take the Dental Aptitude Test before submitting an application.
