REMEMBER TO ENTER IN YOUR AGENDA AND TELL YOUR BOSS:

TUESDAY, AUGUST 19TH - WELCOME DAY 2014 FOR ALL SLC STUDENTS!

Welcome What will be happening? All kinds of things but here are a few examples:
- Your official timetable will be given to you as well as your book list, locker number (found on your schedule), agenda and OPUS/ID Card.

- ID cards/Bus card photos will be taken for new students who were not here for the first photo session in May as well as for returning students who did not have a card last year. ID cards are obligatory to have access to the library, the fitness centre and other SLC services and activities.

- The bookstore is open for you.
- The used book sale is in the cafeteria.

MEETINGS WITH GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR

Did you know that you could still meet the guidance counsellor over the summer?

Whether you want to think about your future options, research information tools, confirm your program choice, you may contact me by MIO for an appointment.

My schedule over the summer will be from Tuesday to Thursday up until June 19. As of July 28, I will be back in the office four days a week (Monday to Thursday).

REPÈRES

To access REPÈRES (the most complete database for career and educational information in Québec), you must log on to my SLC Webfolio with your Omnivox logon code and password. You will have unlimited access to REPÈRES up until August (exact cutoff date unknown). Afterwards, you will have to contact Nicole Anne Daigle to obtain an individual code. To click on the REPÈRES link, you must go to the section "Understanding the Job Market" and then click on "Employment Titles" in the left-hand menu. You will then see a link for REPÈRES.

When you take the time to read the texts and complete the questions in each category of the Webfolio, you will learn who you are, what you have to offer and what you are hoping to achieve professionally.

Jeunes Boursiers des Grands Québécois

If you are submitting an application for the Jeunes Boursiers des Grands Québécois, I will be in the office this Thursday, May 22 up until 4:30 p.m. If you submit your application on Friday, May 23 by the 4 p.m. deadline, please see the security guard who will confirm by signature that the deadline was respected (will have an impact if we exceed the number of applicants we may nominate per CEGEP). If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.

Fitness centre

If you are presently registered as a student at SLC (Fall 2013 and/or Winter 2014) you may use the fitness centre all summer, by showing your OPUS card. If you lost yours or are not a student at SLC, the cost for a summer membership is $45.00. Please go to room 272 to pay or get more info.

Summer building Hours:

Monday to Friday 7:00 - 22:45

Saturday 12:00 - 17:45

Sunday 12:00 - 17:45

BRING A LOCK ON WELCOME DAY.

Claim your locker!
Tuesday, August 19th, Welcome Day, you will receive your locker assignment. It is highly recommended that you bring a lock with you and put it on your locker immediately. This is the best way to avoid locker problems on the first day of classes. If you have a problem with the locker you have been attributed, do not grab another.
