Science Project Posters
On Wednesday, April 30th
 from 13:05 to 14:50 in the cafeteria, graduating science students will present the results of semester projects in astronomy, ecology and biochemistry.

 

Come and find out about the moon, the solar system, the space station, insect-repellent plants, enzymes... This is for the whole St. Lawrence community!

SLCSA GENERAL ASSEMBLY:
 On Thursday, May 1st from 12:00 to 14:00,  the annual SLCSA general assembly will be held in room 268. Your presence is EXTREMELY important since you will be voting on serious matters such as finances, and will also learn about how your money was spent and what we are going to do with what is left of it, as well as learning about our new bylaws etc. It is your duty to come to the assembly to exert your right to vote, voice your opinions and allow democracy within the student life.

It's that time of the year again. You know the time where we get together one last time before our Lion graduates leave us and where we celebrate the season past with awards and your home movies.
The Sports Banquet is being held on Thursday, May 1st from 18:00 to to 21:00 in the cafeteria. Again this year St-Hubert is offering you dinner. Please confirm your presence with Joanne or Justin in room 272. Tickets at $2.00
EMPTY YOUR LOCKER BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR THE SUMMER
Lockers
Remember to clean out your lockers before you leave for the summer. All lockers must be emptied and locks removed before Friday, May 16th. Even if you are coming back next term and/or using the fitness center, you must empty your locker. You will be assigned a new locker next fall. After May 23rd all locks will be cut and the lockers will be emptied of their contents.
IMPORTANT: We do not keep the contents of the lockers! Clothes are given to charity and the books recycled. For more info see Joanne in room 272.

Important Revised Academic Calendar

We have been informed by the government that classes need to be cancelled for the provincial election (Monday, April 7, 2014), and that we also need to recover the lost hours of class.
In Summary:

1 - Classes are canceled on Monday, April 7, 2014.
2 - The last day of class will now be on Monday, May 5th.
3 - The Final Exam schedule will be revised and we will have exams on Saturday, May 10th. (This was an identified "Reserve day" for storms, election,...).

CHEMISTRY WORKSHOPS
Chem workshops will end on Friday May 2nd. They will be back in the Fall.
MS Walk 2013
On May 25, 2014, we will be hundreds walking to support research on Multiple Sclerosis.
I will be walking especially for Mélanie, my son's wife.
But also for every person that suffers from this disease.
During the week of April 28, there will be a BAKE SALE to collect funds.

You never know, maybe you could have access to money you were not aware of.  Not all scholarships require high grades. Check out the list. For more info, see Nicole-Anne Daigle and Kim Patenaude, our guidance counsellors. Their offices are in the library.

 

 

 Dr. Guthrie Memorial Scholarship

 

Extended deadline May 7, 2014 

This one-year scholarship ($3000) is awarded to an outstanding student entering the first year of a university programme in health studies.  (Dr. of Medicine or Bachelor of Nursing Science).

 

The successful applicant must show financial need and high academic achievement.

 

Students from Quebec High School, St. Patrick's High School, Dollard des Ormeaux High School, and Eastern Quebec Learning Centre are eligible to apply for this scholarship provided they have graduated from a CEGEP with the necessary prerequisites to enter university.

 

The scholarship is open to all students graduating from St. Lawrence in science no matter which high school you have attended prior to your studies at St. Lawrence.
