"After 2 races this season, the men's team has scored an impressive 3rd /20 in Trois-Rivieres and a 6th/18 despite an injured athlete. The women finished 12th/20 in our 1st race this season and 12/18 at Baie-Comeau, despite having an incomplete team. loran award
Become a Loran Scholar
Apply Now!
Receive up to $80,000!

Character, service and leadership are the selection criteria for the Loran Scholar program. Loran Scholars are people of strong moral character who have demonstrated commitment to service and potential as leaders. They are curious by nature, interested in a wide range of subjects and willing to take meaningful risks. They prioritize results over appearances and value integrity and honesty. Though they study diverse subjects, and go on to work in a variety of fields, they share a common commitment to their university and larger communities.
The Loran Scholar program is open to every graduating high school or cegep student from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Renewable for up to four years, and valued at up to $80,000, it includes an annual tuition waiver and a stipend of $9,000, access to funding and internships through our summer program, invitations to annual gatherings and forums, and one-on-one mentorship. We select 30 Loran Scholars each year and the award is tenable at any of our partner universities.

Important Information:
The CEGEP can sponsor up to five students. Although the deadline to send in your application to the regional committee is October 16, if we receive more than five applications, we must form a selection committee and review applications. Therefore, the internal deadline for St. Lawrence is Friday, October 11, 16:00.

Completed applications can be brought to Nicole Anne Daigle's office (Monday to Thursday) or to Kim Patenaude's office. Both offices are located in the library (rooms 258 and 254).

If you have any questions about the application process, see Nicole Anne Daigle or Kim Patenaude.

We have had Loran scholars in the past and if you recognize yourself, do not hesitate and apply!

Scholarships!

Check out other scholarship opportunities on the counselling board near room 272. A list of all scholarships is posted. If you have questions or need help to apply, see Nicole Anne Daigle (room 254) or Kim Patenaude (room 258).  You can also view the list online: http://www.slc.qc.ca/counselling

  • Click on Scholarships and Bursaries (left-side menu).

Every year, SLC students are selected for scholarships. If you think you meet the criteria, consider applying and remember we are here to help you.
