Recruiting for the most prestigious winter sports event in Canada has begun. Runners, Nordic skiers, hockey players, speed skaters and cyclists alike are all invited to join. You may participate individually or form your own team of 3-5 people. Last year SLC brought home two banners: Inter-collegiate banner in the women and mixed categories.

The Students Without Borders™ (SWB) program is now accepting applications for May 2013!

SWB offers university and college students and recent graduates exciting international volunteer internships. The majority of placements are 3 to 4 months in duration. Placements from a variety of disciplines are available in Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ghana, Guatemala, Malawi, Nepal, Peru, Senegal, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. PARKING AT SLC
|  Parking lottery details: Students must fill an entry form, available at the reception desk. There are 5 to 10 spaces available to students depending on the needs of the staff each year. The parking lottery will be held until January 21, 2013 at 3:00.The names of the winners will be posted on the television monitor and on the school's boards and will have 3 business days to claim and pay their parking pass. All unclaimed cards after this deadline will be put back for a 2nd lottery. Parking spaces can also be rented at neighboring apartments: Pavillon Montcalm (418) 656-0553 and there is a parking area down on Nérée Tremblay (418) 653-7458. Do not park at the Pyramid. They will tow your car immediately.

| This semester, the English department offers a special workshop for students attending the Introduction to College English class who feel they need extra help with the grammar and composition elements covered in class. Students who wish to enroll will be required to attend one 100-minute workshop every week. The workshop will be divided as follows: in the first hour, students work individually on grammar exercises that address a specific grammar issue covered in the ICE course or a feature of academic writing, and in the second hour, students are welcome to bring their written work to get some individual help with their papers or other class assignments. Students interested in joining should send an e-mail to Isabelle Guy: iguy@slc.qc.ca The workshop is open to all interested students.
