Homophobia

Despite breakthroughs in society's recognition of sexual diversity, homophobia is still active even if the ways in which it surfaces are growing subtler. Our societies recognize that homophobia is a form of discrimination just as any other form of discrimination. Like combating these other forms, people from all communities need to become aware of this issue.

On Tuesday, November 27, SLC will present various activities on the subject of homophobia and how you can help. Follow this link for a music video bearing witness to the everyday fight homosexuals must face.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlVBg7_08n0&feature=share

Improv Team. Wednesday, November 28,  Joyeux Pyromanes vs FIT in the  cafeteria 19:30.

Open Mic OPEN MIC NIGHT! Thursday, November 29 at 19:30 in the cafeteria.

What is Open Mic? Performers sign up in room 272 (student activities) and perform during showtime for a maximum of 10 minutes. You can perform anything you want: Songs, monologues, poetry, music...you name it!
Open Mic is like an easy going coffee shop where students, teachers and staff live out their performance fantasies! It is open to all.

Battery Recycling Contest
Battery Recycling

From Monday, November 12 to Friday, November 16, it's battery recycling week at St. Lawrence. Bring your used batteries to the front desk and we will take care of their recycling. The three "heaviest" recyclers will win prizes of $40, $20, and $10 respectively. We accept all sorts of domestic batteries (single-use or rechargeable and watch batteries) but sadly we can't take your old car or golf cart battery!

Batteries contain a number of heavy metals and toxic chemicals; their dumping has raised concern over risks of soil contamination and water pollution. The more batteries recycled, the better our environment!
