NEW IN 2013! |
CEGEP Champlain - St. Lawrence is pleased to announce that it will offer a new course entitled Introduction to Medical Terminology this winter, from February 16 to April 28, 2013. Supported by a grant from Entente Canada-Québec, this credit course is designed for nursing students and health professionals who want to gain a more thorough understanding of medical terms in English and/or want to expand their knowledge base. It will be offered intensively during two weekends (at the beginning and end of the course) and online for 9 weeks with the teacher using state-of-the-art technology.
Do you have friends or family members studying Nursing or working in health-related fields who want to improve their skills to better communicate with their English patients? We believe this new course can help!
Potential students may be interested in knowing that they can apply for financial assistance to attend the weekend sessions in Quebec City if they live more than 100 kilometres from the college. Information brochures in both English and French are available on St. Lawrence's website: www.slc.qc.ca/academics/continuing-education

Despite breakthroughs in society's recognition of sexual diversity, homophobia is still active even if the ways in which it surfaces are growing subtler. Our societies recognize that homophobia is a form of discrimination just as any other form of discrimination. Like combating these other forms, people from all communities need to become aware of this issue.
On Tuesday, November 27, SLC will present various activities on the subject of homophobia and how you can help. Follow this link for a music video bearing witness to the everyday fight homosexuals must face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlVBg7_08n0&feature=share Improv Team.
