Issue 13 Volume 13 - Month of October 2015

Dear FIPC Church Family,
God is doing great things at FIPC! I don't know if you know of ALL the GREAT things He is doing, so I thought I would give you a short list, a taste of what He is doing...
* Mercy Steps School of Dance - Alexa Bridges, the Director of Mercy Steps School of Dance, sees dance as a great way to worship God and communicate the faith. She runs dance classes for children and youth in the Rock Room on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-7:00 pm. She would love to have an adult class... any takers?
* Crud Wars - Young Life of Clay County is a non-denominational outreach to high school youth. FIPC hosted their annual "Crud Wars" on September 8. Several hundred high school youth from all over Northeast Florida participated playing crazy games! The point of the Crud Wars...you can have fun and be a Christian at the same time! Clay County Fire Department came at the end of the Crud Wars and hosed everyone down! It was a sight to see!
* Wyldlife - Wyldlife is a ministry of Young Life in Clay County to junior high students. They are meeting here at FIPC every other Sunday night from 7:30-8:30 pm in The Shack. At their first meeting, they had over 100 junior high youth participate! At Wyldlife, the junior high youth play games, sings songs, and hear a message about Jesus. They also have small group Bible studies, called Campaigners, which are held every other Sunday off sight.
* AA - Alcoholics Anonymous of Fleming Island is meeting in the ROCK Room every Wednesday evening from 7:00-8:30 pm. It is open to anyone who would like to come - especially those who would like help to quit drinking alcohol. As they say, "AA works if you work it."
* Boy Scouts - Our Boy Scout Troop #309 is doing great things! They meet at FIPC in The Shack every Monday evening from 7:00-8:30 pm. They have been a huge blessing to FIPC and have completed a lot of major projects around the church grounds.
* The Counseling Center at FIPC - We have 3 licensed, board certified, Christian counselors that meet with couples, families, adults, teens, and children. FIPC maintains a scholarship fund for those who do not have insurance or cannot afford counseling.
* 5th Quarter - 5th Quarter is our outreach to high school students after the Fleming Island High School home football games. Our goal is to provide a fun, safe, Christian environment for any and all youth to come and hang out after the game. So far this year, we have been averaging 450 to 500 high school youth at each event!
* And sooo much more!
God is working inside and outside FIPC to bring people to Himself! He will use anything and everything to accomplish His purpose. Let us give Him all the praise, honor, and glory for allowing us all to be part of what He is doing!
Remember...God is good! All the time!

"God Is For You"
by Rick Warren
"But the angel reassured them. 'Don't be afraid!' he said. 'I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.'"
(Luke 2:10 NLT, second edition) Knowing God is for you will change your whole perspective on life. You'll stop thinking of God as someone looking down from Heaven, ready to yell "Gotcha!" any time you mess up.
God is for your success in life; he created you for a purpose, and he wants you to succeed. It is God, your Creator, who will measure your success in life and no one else.
This is extremely good news!
It means you don't need to be afraid of God, because God is for you. Yet some people are so afraid of God they get nervous just talking about him. Do you know why? They feel guilty, and then they start thinking, "If I get close to God, he's going to lecture me. He's going to remind me of all the things I've done wrong, and then I'll feel even worse!"
Nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus said, "I did not come into the world to condemn it, but to save it." Jesus was saying, "I didn't come to scold you; I came to save you."
And if God is for us, who can be against us?
Jesus came to save us, not to scare us. That's why when the angel was telling the shepherds about the birth of Jesus, the first thing he said is, "Don't be afraid!"
In fact, when God sends a message to people in the Bible, it's not unusual for the first words to be: "Don't be afraid." There are 365 messages from God in the Bible that begin with a phrase like, "Fear not!" In other words, every single day of the year, you can read a message from God that says, in effect, "You don't need to be afraid. I am for you; I am with you; I love you."
God is for you!
