Have your athletes started dryland training, ski training or racing for 2014-15? The registration cycle runs from July 1 to June 30 yearly. Athletes who have started their 2014-15 programs should be registered with their clubs and through Zone 4 via their club registrar. Contact Carol at memberservices@albertaalpine.ca if you have any questions.
Invoices have been generated on all club accounts for Director and Officer Insurance, Club Affiliation Fees, Bib and Tear Down Deposits and Equipment Deposits (only for clubs who will be hosting races this year). Remember that you have 30 days to pay once an invoice has been generated. Click here for complete fee schedule.

The series includes 50 event days across the province, teaching ski racing fundamentals to the next generation of Alberta's ski racing champions. Iconic slopes such as Lake Louise, Panorama, Sunshine, Norquay, Rabbit Hill, Snow Valley, Sunridge, Edmonton Ski Club, Marmot Basin and Fort McMurray will all host Alpine Insurance events during the season.

12th FIS Youth Seminar - Long Term Athlete Development

 The theme "Long Term Athlete Development" framed the recent Youth Seminar which took place last week in Zurich. Attended by Youth Development Leaders from the ski world, presentations by Ron Kipp Alpine Sport Education Manager, USSA Ski Team and Hedda Berntsen who has the unique sport credentials as a Telemark World Champion and Olympic slalom silver and ski cross bronze medalist, highlighted the event. RA Working Group, Nov. 1: Alberta Alpine suggests that all RA's who are running a race this year attend the working group to gather current information. Course covers the administrative side of the race office. Software used is up the individual RA. To register, email Irene Peterson direnep@telus.net

The North Zone will be hosting the TD/Senior Official Update, conducted by Don Boyce, on November 1 in Edmonton. This update is mandatory every two years for TD's and Level III Officials - however - all are welcome! Officials with some on snow experience will get more benefit from this, however, than someone who hasn't volunteered before or taken a Level I.
Starts at 9:00AM. The venue will be dependent on the turnout, so please RSVP to Mike Lemanski at lemanski@telus.net We will have it at either the Percy Page Centre, Groat Road & 118 Avenue, or at the BDC Conference Centre, Jasper Avenue & 107 Street, depending on turnout.

A Message for Coaches from the CSCF

On October 7th the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) announced they will be asking members to approve a Special Resolution to fully integrate operations into Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA). The vote will be taking place at the CSCF Annual General Meeting in Banff, AB, on November 22, 2014.
ACA is committed to ensuring that Canadian ski coaching remains a vital component of our system, in coordination with our athletes, provincial ski associations, clubs, and volunteers. The integration of CSCF with ACA will facilitate additional support and resources for coaching education, certification, and career pathways.
