Cresa Jay Cup

The Calgary Alpine Racing Club hosted the U16 Jay Cup this weekend at Nakiska. The race honours the memory of Jason Lapierre, a world class ski coach and nationally ranked triathlete who passed away in 2006.

Jason was a well-respected member of both the Alpine skiing and triathlon communities in Alberta. His coaching career highlights included working with top Canadian skier John Kucera, who would later become the 2009 World Downhill Champion.

Ski for Life is the message that came out loud and clear at the Alpine Insurance series Linda Putnam Invitational hosted by Team Panorama.   This event captured the essence of Ski for Life, from the 5 year old fore runners leading the charge down the track, to the Team Pano Alumni volunteers who remain passionate about this sport. The 210 athletes had 4 starts each on 2 courses, received a fantastic hat commemorating the race, enjoyed a Pizza Party & Tubing, and most importantly had lots of smiles on their faces!  A fantastic tribute to Linda Putnam.
