A weekly source of positive energy and information
for the village of Sayulita Mexico

From the Owner's Desk

Once again Lindsay has allowed me to write our intro this week.  Gracias!

Next Wednesday, March 19th is that time of year again when we come together for the annual ProSayulita fundraiser that benefits our pueblo in so many ways.

The "20's Flair" party kicks off at 5:30 p.m; there will be delicious food, entertainment and silent and live auctions. This is guaranteed to be an incredible evening for everyone and everyone (especially all Sayulita home and business owners) is encouraged to come celebrate and help raise funds for the numerous vital programs Grupo Pro Sayulita supports including the following:

  • Policia Turistica (Police)
  • Proteccion Civil (Fire/Rescue)
  • SayuLimpia (Cleaning the streets)
  • Sayulita Recicla (Recycling)
  • SayulitAnimals (Spay, Neuter, Adopt)
  • Campamentoo Tortugas (Turtles)
  • Vigillantes de Ambiente (Environmental Protection)
  • Casa de Cultura (Cultural Centar)
  • Playground for Sayulita (A New Community Playground)
  • and so much more more more!
So please, buy your tickets now and bring your spending money to the event. It truly is one of the best ways to help the town, have a great time, and bid on some incredible auction item deals.

Thank you for reading El Sayulero and thank you in advance for supporting our community via the Pro Sayulita Fundraiser dinner.

Ian Hodge

Founder, SayulitaLife.com

P.S.  If you are not in town or cannot make it to the event, please consider donating via the website.  Remember, the organization needs funds all year round!

Interview with Courtney Richardson: Pro Sayulita Fiesta Organizer

This week we were able to grab Courtney Richardson away from her Fundraiser planning to answer a few questions about this incredibly important Sayulita event happening this Wednesday, March March 19th at Don Pedro's Brisa Palapa.

SayulitaLife.com: Briefly, tell us about yourself and why you threw your hat in the ring to organize this event?

Courtney: I'm a right brained Capricorn that loves cold white wine!! This is also my 6th high season here in Sayulita with my most recent years being a wedding/event coordinator. I thought I was the only person who put his/her name into the hat to organize the event this year, although Nick Sherman and Jack Jones told me other wise. They schmoozed me with a latte from Don Pedro's...I'm still waiting for my filet mingon. Read entire interview

Bring Your Golf Clubs to the Fundraiser!

One of the many attractions at the ProSayulita fundraiser this year will be an opportunity to hit biodegradable golf balls into the sea.

Even better, get your ball into Captain Pablo's panga anchored in the Los Muertos Bay and win a chance at one of EIGHT free rounds of golf at the Four Season Jack Nicklaus course.

Additionally, there will be prizes (more rounds of golf from Flamingos Golf and Litibu Golf courses) for longest drive and best shots.

Special prizes for this section of the fundraiser also include a full day fishing with Captain Pablo and a giant variety of gift certificates to some of Sayulita's best restaurants.

So bring your favorite driver, iron and wedge on Wednesday.

Firefighters Crossing Borders is an organization that certainly makes a difference to the health and well being of the surfers and swimmers enjoying the sea in Sayulita. FFCB was founded in 2000 by an American firefighter to help emergency response groups that were undermanned and under-equipped in Mexico. One of the primary focuses of the group is Nayarit.  Read more

Pet of the Week: "Ally"

Hola! I am Ally, a 10 week old, female, puppy that was found in Bucerias with my siblings and mom. My start at life was pretty grim, eating mainly tortillas and being covered in fleas and ticks. I am so happy to now be safe at Sayulitanimals. I am very sweet, playful and outgoing. Let my friends at Sayulitanimals know if I spark your interest! Wags!
