Romance is the theme of the day. And here in our beloved Sayulita, we know how to turn up the dial to mark such love-themed special occasions. Shops and street-side vendors are already taking part in the fun with an extravagant array of floral, chocolate and festive gift ideas wrapped in rich reds to mark the day. Don't forget to pick up a little something for your special someone -- not to worry, they'll be there into the evening for you last-minute folk! By evening, join us in town where several Sayulita hot spots will be honoring El Dia de Amor y Amistad with special prix fixe menus for two, inviting local and visiting lovebirds to join them in celebration. Of course the party doesn't stop here. Our community will be gathering all month long with a series of great events and discussions ranging a variety of important topics.

By Myrha Colt

Sayulita may not be well-known as a hub for divers, but those in the know have learned there's much to appreciate both underwater and from above here on Banderas Bay. Meet Stephane Panetta and Roberta Commisso of Sayulita Entourage. Originally from Europe (Stephane from France and Roberta from Italy), this pair has run a top-notch professional dive school out of Sayulita since 2000. Previously a home-based business under the name Sayulita Diving School, this January they finally decided to join the ranks of central Sayulita's shopping district with a full storefront on Calle Miramar just over on the north end of town. Read more

Interview with Kathleen Nicoletti:
CVIS Principal,Organizer of
Sahara Nights Fundraiser

As most of you know, this coming Wednesday is the Costa Verde International School's (CVIS) annual fundraiser dinner.  We've seen a banner with camels strung across the entrance to town as well as heard rumors of some pretty far out entertainment planned for the evening.  El Sayulero caught up with Kathy Nicoletti, CVIS Director to learn a little more about what to expect and why you should attend.

SayulitaLife.com: In a nutshell, tell us what CVIS is all about.
Kathleen: CVIS is about seeing children and families for who they are-their learning styles, personalities, strengths and desires.  Our goal is to provide a truly bilingual, green education to children and have those children love every minute of it. We want children and their families to be inspired by what they are learning and to understand that they can make the world a better place.

Chicken Soup For Breakfast
By Melisa Schelvan

Our first neighborhood in Sayulita was also home to a free-roaming gang of gallos. It was never clear to us if they belonged to anyone or if we (the people) belonged to them. For those first weeks, the rooster's 4:00 AM wake-up call would leave me lying in bed, plotting what to put in my chicken soup! Eventually though, I stopped noticing the roosters quite so much and they became a part of my day-normal even. It was then that I realized I could learn something from the roosters. Read more

Pet of the Week: "Jade"

Hola! I am Jade a one year old, female cat who was abandoned with my 2 young kittens in Punta Negra.  My kittens have now been adopted and I have been living at the clinic for almost a year. I am 100% deaf, but that does not stop me from anything...in fact I kinda like it because I don't get woken up by the roosters in the morning like everyone else. I have a very outgoing and spunky personality. I enjoy the company of humans and dogs. It has been so wonderful being here at Sayulitanimals and getting all the love and affection I have been missing out on in life.. However, I am ready for my own real home! I have fattened up, am spayed, de-flead and de-ticked. Let me know if I spark your interest! I look forward to meeting you!
