Sayulita Fair

Sayulita Days are officially here and the town is celebrating their annual fair located at Sayulita's baseball field. Although the fair is open during the later parts of the afternoon, it's at night when all of Sayulita comes out with friends and family to play the many games and win a prize, throw a rock and win a can of beer or jump on a ride. This year there are even some adorable pony rides for kids. There is something for everyone at this year's Sayulita fair. Vendors are just beginning to set up their booths for the week where you can buy clothes, shoes, belts, jewelry, toys, candies and so much more. It's fun to just wander the fair grounds and see what's available or try your hand at throwing darts for a fun prize! The fair will continue this weekend until Sunday February 24th when Sayulita Days comes to an end on Flag day. Don't miss Sunday's Flag Day parade through town in the morning.

March 13 | Mark The Date:  Be sure to read this week's Grupo Pro Sayulita article announcing the upcoming GPS Fiesta Fundraiser taking place on March 13th. This year's fundraiser is a folkloric themed evening sure to be the event of the year.

Thank you for reading El Sayulero. See you at the fair this weekend!

Sayulita Is for Everybody:
Interview with Arturo Gangoiti

By Timothy Kelly

If you happen to be walking down Calle Gaviotas at night, next to El Mezcalito, you will most likely hear a warm welcome from Arturo Bermudez, inviting you in for a "shot" of his traditional mezcal and tequila drinks. Arturo was born in Tepic, and has spent a lot of his childhood there with his family. Family memories for Arturo are both important and pleasant. Tepic was not his only place of residence as a child. Arturo also spent some time in Guadalajara, the capitol of Jalisco, and in Uruapan, in the Western part of Michoacan. It seems that no matter where he was living, he was able to hold onto fond memories of his childhood. One of his favorites are the summer vacations that the family used to take to the beaches of Nayarit.  Read entire interview

Costa Verde International School held their 6th Annual Scholarship fundraiser at Don Pedros on Wednesday evening, and it was a smashing success. What an exquisite place we all have come to be in, and what better way to enjoy its natural beauty than on the beach, under the stars, while supporting a community endeavor to make higher education accessible to all. Pueblo Magico: Colorful Houses in Sayulita

We live up in the hill with views of ocean, town and jungle.  I love sitting with a glass of wine and gazing around.  The houses pop up from the jungle settings.  Many are perched out from the steep hillsides in order to achieve those breathtaking ocean views. Houses are so delightfully clustered - there are the white houses that give the Mediterranian-Greek stacked village feeling; then there are houses of every color- from green, orange, mustard, yellow and even blue.  More

Pet of the Week:  "Parker"

 Parker

Parker is a 2 year old, black lab mix who is a loving and extremely affectionate boy. He was abandoned on the beach, but was very persistent about finding someone to take care of him. He is happy that his foster parents are feeding him and keeping him safe, but would love a real home. He loves people and dogs and would make the perfect loyal companion. Parker is healthy, neutered and ready to be in his "Fur-Ever" home. If interested in adopting Parker let us know!

To adopt an animal or donate to Sayulitanimals contact: [email protected]

Photo of the Week:
Girl with a Bird

Photos by Donna Day Photography

One of the things I love about Sayulita is I never know what I'm going to see on my walks. Everyday I walk the beach on the North side of town and I love when I bump into something/someone like this: Girl with a Bird....sort of sounds like a book title.
