Volunteers Sweep Streets in Sayulita
|
By Nicki Cooper
We have all seen the familiar green shirts of the Sayulimpia teams sweeping and cleaning our streets and town, but who are they and why are they doing it? They are volunteers! Not everyone, but the difference is clear. If the team is in a Sayulimpia truck, they're staff members. If they're walking around with brooms and bags, they're volunteers, and they're relying on our support. Read more

Sight This: The Works of Janine Kelleher
|
Janine's beautiful artistic vision is an amalgamation of poetry, memories, collage, a unique style, daring and talent. Her artwork at JaLu Gallery is compelling. It asks you to take a very long look and let it register in your mind and heart. It may even say, "Take me home." More
La visión artística de Janine es una amalgamación de poesías, memorias, recuerdos y un estilo único atravesando su talento. Su arte en la galeria Jalu es convincente. Su arte te pide que le des una larga vista mientras tu corazón y mente graban todo. Tal vez te dice "llévame a casa". Mas

Safer Driving in Sayulita

Three years ago a plan was developed by a committee of local community and GPS members to help direct the flow of traffic and organize parking. With municipal government changes, construction, and fluctuating finances the plan was set aside. Recognizing the rising need, Damien Porter, owner of Don Pedro's, and Hector Pina, Sayulita's current delegado, have brought the plan back with action and determination. More

Sayulita Live Theatre To Present The Vagina Monologues
|
As Eve Ensler, creator of the Vagina Monologues (VM) says, she never imagined she would end up talking about vaginas - in fact, she doesn't think she had much to do with it -- "It possessed me," she says. Prior to the Monologues, Eve Ensler wasn't even a performer, she was a playwright. But since 1998, she has performed the play thousands of times, been awarded an Obie for it, and has had the likes of Marlo Thomas, Kathie Lee Gifford and Calista Flockhart participate. More
