Support girls' right to education
and a diverse & inclusive STEM community
March 8 - April 3
We are delighted to announce that a former board member and generous donor has issued a challenge for the Science Club for Girls community to raise $20,000, to remove barriers and create life-changing experiences for teens and girls.

To honor the spirit of our mission and vision and our commitment to diversity & inclusion, the challenge begins today, March 8, International Women's Day, and ends on April 3, the day that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his final speech.

Science Club for Girls recognizes the innovation and community that occurs when people from all genders, racial, ethnic, and class backgrounds, faiths, abilities, and sexual orientations come together to explore science, create technology, and engineer solutions.  We aim to create a culturally responsive environment among our staff, participants and mentors.

It is with this understanding that we welcome volunteers and advocates to join us as catalysts to bring about gender and racial equity in the STEM community.

We are already 45% of the way to meeting the goal. Please join us as you are able, and spread the word (see below). We need your generous and timely support to meet this challenge. Thank you for being a catalyst for change.

A note from Maya, an alum now at Clark
RocketteamI really miss SCFG and being around such amazing young scientists! I would love to contribute to the program during the summer when I return to Cambridge.

SCFG gave me so much, I believe it is time I give back! If there is any volunteer work or unpaid internship you need someone to fill I am all yours. I want to commit this summer to assisting you in any way possible.

(Maya's the one in the red jacket)
Thank you!

We really can't say it enough - so we'll say it again here. Thank you. We have the best (and funnest) group of supporters that we could ask for, and it's because of each and every one of you that we have been so successful this past year.

If a financial contribution is a burden at this time, we welcome you to volunteer time and expertise, or share your story of your experience publicly. THANKS!!

Please spread the word

Here are two examples of volunteers who persuaded their family to give to Science Club for Girls. We urge you to be creative in helping us meet our challenge. Maybe you can divert gifts for your birthday, a promotion, or run 10 miles for us. You can easily
build an electronic fundraising page, or, just use a tin can around your dorm or office! And please simply share this email, with a note about why you support Science Club for Girls.
