News Brief: Unmatched Durability,
While Truly Failsafe!

Monitor Technologies’ SafePoint® Rotary Paddle Level Indicator is a “TRUE” failsafe point level indicator that provides economic and reliable point level measurement for dry bulk materials stored in bins, hoppers, silos and tanks.

SafePoint® utilizes Monitor’s patented magnetic sensor technology to continuously detect both material presence and operational status. SafePoint electronics include a FailSafe LEDmicrocontroller that monitors shaft and motor mounting plate rotation, and that performs self-diagnostics for reliable and consistent operation. Separate outputs are available for material sense and fault conditions, making SafePoint a “truly” fail-safe device.

SafePoint® automatically shuts off the drive motor when the paddle is in a stalled condition

TrueCap Failsafe Cut Awaydue to material presence. The motor is reactivated when material level drops. This feature greatly extends motor life.

SafePoint® also has a unique housing design with a twist on/off cover for easy access, and two conduit entrances for easy wiring. Versions are available for installation in ordinary or hazardous locations. There is even a SafePoint option for high temperature service (up to 750o F/300o C).

This Years IBIE Trade Show Aug 15 - 18

Joe Lewis at This Years IBIE Trade ShowThe International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), held at the Las Vegas Convention Center August 15 – 18, 2004, is a new show for Monitor Technologies.

Held every three years, the IBIE is co-sponsored by the American Bakers Association (ABA) and BEMA, the Baking Industry Suppliers Association. IBIE 2004 draws a worldwide audience of wholesale bakers, supermarket in-store bakers, large and small retail bakers, and foodservice bakers. Nearly 25,000 domestic and international baking professionals attended this years 2004 exposition

Monitor showcased our full-line of products ranging from Point Level, Continuous Level, Solids Flow, Particle Emission, and Bin Aeration products. Live demonstrations of our SiloTrack™ Software where also preformed on demand.

The show was extremely successful for Monitor and we look forward to attending the next show in 2007 Orlando, Florida. What is your favorite food?
Steamed Alaskan King Crab paired with Steak Tenderloin cooked Pittsburg style over a wood fire. Side dishes based upon seasonal availability. However, note that fresh sauteed mush- rooms with fresh garlic are available year round and should never be considered optional when good beef is about to be consumed.

What customer item reminds you most of Monitor?
Bread while it is baking. One of our customers factory smelled so good when I was last there on a service call that now I think of the aroma of baking bread everytime I work with our BulkSonics Ultrasonic Continous Level product line.

What is the best aspect of working at Monitor?
I enjoy working in the field with both Customer and Rep Organizations to solve problems they may be faced with or to educate them in our product offerings so they make proper product selections for level measure ment/sensing in new applications.
