Advanced Placement Exams at WHS
Now is the time of year when we prepare to order the Advanced Placement Exams for students in AP classes. The testing will be at Woodside High School in the first two weeks of May.
The AP students and their teachers have been working hard since school began to prepare for these tests and will continue to work and review with the expectation that all students will take the tests. The teachers will be expecting all students to review, study, practice, and prepare, and many teachers give practice AP exams that count substantially toward all students' semester grades (including those who will not be sitting for the official exams). The cost for each AP exam is $98. Reduced fees are automatically available for students who have qualified for free or reduced lunch. We also hope to provide some financial assistance for other students who need it. Please contact Susan Garcia (367-9750. Ext. 40050) for questions about fee reductions and payment. In order to meet the ordering deadlines, all AP students must make payment arrangements by Monday, February 27, 2017. Payments are made in the Treasurer's Office OR by credit card using Infinite Campus. Students who do not sign up and make payment arrangements for AP tests will not get the opportunity to take the tests. No extra tests will be ordered. We are also willing to order and administer Advanced Placement tests to students who are not enrolled in the corresponding courses (including AP exams for courses that we do not offer).
Woodside High School Community Hall of Fame Nominations
The Woodside High School Community Hall of Fame was organized for the 50th anniversary of WHS in 2008-9 to recognize alumni, staff, and/or community members who exemplified or demonstrated the following:

* Positive contributions to society, Woodside High School, and/or the community

Khan Academy Test Prep
A great, FREE option for SAT prep is Khan Academy. CollegeBoard and Khan Academy have officially partnered to offer students support. Students can (and shouldJ) link their online PSAT score report to Khan Academy. When that happens, Khan Academy knows what kinds of SAT questions that the student needs to work on, and the specific skills they need to review.
Princeton Review Test Prep
Princeton Review is planning to offer two prep classes on Woodside's campus if there is interest. The ACT class is timed to work towards the April test. The class is scheduled to begin February 25. The SAT class is time to work towards the May test. The class is scheduled to begin March 18. Juniors can register for either class at www.princetonreview.com. Class cost is $699 but Woodside HS students are eligible for a $180 discount with the promo code WOODSIDEHS180. If you'd like to speak with our PRrepresentative, Claudia Pouani, please call 510-295-0002 (or email Claudia.Pouani@Reviw.com)

Thank You!
8,000 thanks to the 100 Woodside High School teachers and staff who donated to the Foundation's Annual Campaign. When teachers and staff themselves are willing to give a donation, it makes a powerful statement to the parent community about how vital the funds we raise are for our school. Thank you for leading by example!
And we know we don't say it enough, but thank you for all you do for our children. We know that our students are so lucky to be taught and supported by the teachers and staff of this exceptional school. Under your watch, our children are growing intellectually, creatively, physically, and socially. Woodside High School's amazing staff is what enables our students to have not just a good public education, but a fantastic one.

Drama Boosters News
Rehearsals continue, back-stage preparations are in full-swing, and now tickets are available! You can go to the Drama Booster website at www.whsdramaboosters.org to purchase your tickets. There are links on both the Home page and the Tickets page. You will be sent to a third-party site: Brown Paper Tickets to process your purchase. Be sure to select the date of the show you want to attend, and to help us keep the flurry of activity on the night of the show to a minimum, please print your tickets at home rather than use the Will-Call option. After you select the performance and indicate the number of tickets, you will be shown the assigned seats. You have an option to select your own seats below the seat-chart. When you use this option, if you find seats you would prefer over the assigned seats, you must de-select the auto-assigned seats and select the seats you prefer. If you select different types of tickets (ie. adults and students) you will have multiple seating charts to update. Once you've identified the seats you want, click "Next" to be taken to the shopping cart.
You do NOT want to miss this production. The Woodside High School Drama Department has a well-deserved reputation for being the best on the Peninsula. No other high school productions match ours for sets, costumes, lighting and sound, and, of course, acting. You will be treating yourself to one of the best live theater opportunities in the area this year at any level of production. Bring your friends and family, come early and come often. The performances are March 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 8:00 pm and March 12 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for Adults, $15 for Seniors (65+), and $10.00 for Students. We'll see you at the Theater!
