New Second Semester Schedules
Students will need to show their second semester schedule to enter classes on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Students must either print out their schedule from infinite campus or be able to show it on their electronic device (cell phone, tablet etc.) the first day. No schedules will be provided. The Infinite Campus portal, to print schedules, will open Wednesday, January 11th at noon. You cannot print your schedule through school loop. Computer stations will be available on campus for students to print schedules from 7:30-8:50am in the MUR.
The first day will be an all period day (0-7)
California Scholarship Federation
Remember to apply for CSF membership during the January enrollment period for fall semester grades. The CSF deadline is Feb. 3rd.
Per CSF policy, no request will be considered after the deadline.
Advanced Placement Exams at WHS
Now is the time of year when we prepare to order the Advanced Placement Exams for students in AP classes. The testing will be at Woodside High School in the first two weeks of May.
The AP students and their teachers have been working hard since school began to prepare for these tests and will continue to work and review with the expectation that all students will take the tests. The teachers will be expecting all students to review, study, practice, and prepare, and many teachers give practice AP exams that count substantially toward all students' semester grades (including those who will not be sitting for the official exams).
The cost for each AP exam is $98. Reduced fees are automatically available for students who have qualified for free or reduced lunch. We also hope to provide some financial assistance for other students who need it. Please contact Susan Garcia (367-9750. Ext. 40050) for questions about fee reductions and payment. In order to meet the ordering deadlines, all AP students must make payment arrangements by Monday, February 27, 2017. Payments are made in the Treasurer's Office OR by credit card using Infinite Campus.
Students who do not sign up and make payment arrangements for AP tests will not get the opportunity to take the tests. No extra tests will be ordered.
We are also willing to order and administer Advanced Placement tests to students who are not enrolled in the corresponding courses (including AP exams for courses that we do not offer).

Drama Booster Club
Happy New Year! I hope your Holiday festivities were full of joy and good cheer!
As we move into the new school year, there is a mandatory meeting for all those involved in the Spring Musical, Anything Goes. This includes actors and their parents and anyone wanting to be involved on the technical or support side. Therefore this meeting is called for the entire "Company", not just the cast. The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 12 at 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). We are expecting all cast members and at least one parent be present. There will be a lot of important information shared, so please make arrangements to be present. THANKS!
Jim Larkin - Drama Booster President

Free Teen Heart Screening Event!
Did you know 7,000-10,000 children die each year from undetected heart conditions? To prevent this statistic from rising, we are bringing a FREE teen heart screening event to Menlo-Atherton High on January 29th, 2017. Registration for this event is open NOW and is limited to the first 750 students, ages 13-19, from the Sequoia Union High School District. The screening includes an EKG, review of child and family health history, and echo cardiogram (as deemed necessary). The screening has a $600-$6000 value and is brought to you at NO cost, thanks to our partnership with Via Heart Project and sponsors Sequoia Healthcare District and the NFL Alumni Association.

From the Weekly Update Editors
- The deadline for submissions is Wednesday at 4 PM for publication on Sunday evening.
- If you are one of our regular contributors, you will be receiving an email every Monday night reminding you to send in your news. If you want to be added to the "regulars" distribution list, please email us at whsupdate@gmail.com.
- Please keep articles short and focused. Include the event, date, time, location, and contact info, including URL if available.
- Please do not send attachments: send article content in the body of the email. If you send us a flyer, we will include it only as a link to a downloadable document, so the readers will have to click to open and read it. They probably won't, so again: do not send us flyers.
- Please spell check and proofread submissions.
- The PTSA Weekly Update Editorial Team reserves the right to edit or reject submissions.
- No special or additional editions of Weekly Update will be sent out unless the subject matter impacts the ENTIRE school population. Such special editions are exclusively at the discretion of the Weekly Update editors, the PTSA President, and the school administration.
