WHS is breaking ground before graduation!  Fencing, construction trailers, and big dirt-moving equipment rolling in for a new ten-classroom, two-story building going up near the Alameda entrance between the tennis courts, the softball field, the G wing, and the new gym.  Our contractor is BHM Construction out of Napa.  Our architects are HMC in San Jose.  The new J-wing will house our STEM programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math including a chemistry suite and an engineering/robotics suite.  Estimated completion is Fall 2017 for instruction.

Thanks to voters for approving the bond in spring 2014!

PINK RIBBON CLUB

The Pink Ribbon Club is a Woodside student club participating in the Relay for Life Redwood City on Saturday, May 14th. Please help the club fight for this cause. The following is a letter from the club:

Too many people's lives have been touched by cancer. We can't sit still and not take action against this disease that has hurt so many. That's why we're participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Relay For Life is an opportunity to celebrate loved ones who have won their battle against cancer, remember those no longer with us, and fight back against this disease.

The donations we collect will allow for more people to:
  • Have the information and tools they need to help reduce their risk of getting cancer or find the disease early, when it's easiest to treat
  • Have a place to turn for help
  • Benefit from the progress being made toward finding cancer's causes and cures
  • Get access to lifesaving screenings and treatment

Thank you so much for your support. Together, we will finish the fight!
DRAMA NEWS

If you weren't in the PAC this last Thursday, you missed two great one-act plays put on entirely by the Drama Class students. The first play was a dramatic presentation about people from all parts of the country finding themselves mysteriously together on the platform of a train station. As they put it together that they are actually dead, the conversation turns to whether the train that stops will be going to heaven or...? The second was a comedy about a group of 6 students who have benefited from "Conversation Therapy". We see all their little quirks and idiosyncrasies as we see them interacting with each other and with their teacher. Both productions were entertaining and very well "produced". Congratulations to all the students for a wonderful evening at the PAC.
If you are part of the Drama Booster Club, or would like to be, our last meeting of the year is Wednesday, May 25 at 7:00 pm in the Wildcat Room. We're going to be discussing next year and offering ideas for how we can make this the best year ever. Please join us.
