Below is the Woodside High School newsletter for parents, staff, and community members.
 Woodside Weekly PTSA Update
Hello Parents,

The Foundation meeting is Tuesday and Fashion Show meets on Wednesday.  The month of March is March into College for Juniors and their parents every Wednesday.

"Little Mermaid" opens on Friday.  Come see a fantastic show.

It's time to honor our awesome volunteers!  Nominate your Woodside Volunteer Hero.

This is the last week to donate your item or service to the auction.  Go Wildcats!

NOTICE: When you click on a highlighted word in this welcome or in Calendar, you should pop into the area of the email that gives more details about the highlighted word.  This is a nice feature.  However I just found out that these highlighted "anchor" words do NOT work on iphone or ipad.  So if you are reading on those devises, nothing happens when you click on the highlights.  Just know that if a word or phrase is highlighted in the intro letter or Calendar, more information IS available further on in the email but you will need to scroll yourself. This is an Apple problem and not Constant Contact.

Make it a great week!

Google is looking for High Schoolers!

Hi Parents!

Google is forming a co-design team and we are looking for teens who are excited about technology and design and who would like to help Google's User Experience Researchers evaluate and develop new technology for young users. Specifically, we're looking for volunteers, between the ages of 13 to 16, to participate in a 10 week study in Mountain View on the Google campus.

Co-design team participants will be encouraged to consider varying problems and participate in activities designed to encourage creative thinking and problem solving. For example, the co-design team might create prototypes using cardboard, styrofoam, pipe cleaners, and fabric scraps. Or, we might try out a new app and give feedback on how to improve it by writing or drawing our ideas on sticky notes. Participants will be asked to meet with Google's User Experience Researchers once a week on Thursdays, from March 3rd through May 5, 2016.

If your child may be interested in participating, please review the specific details below and get in touch as soon as possible - sessions are starting this week!
  • Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 16
  • The team will meet on Thursdays from 3:45-5:15pm, tentatively starting March 10th through May 28th.
  • Parents must be able to provide transportation for the teen to the sessions.
  • Only one child may participate from each family.
  • Volunteers should plan to attend a trial session to see if they enjoy the activities and are a good fit for the team.
  • Participation is completely voluntary and your child may withdraw from participation at any time.

Feel free to email with questions, we're happy to answer!

The California Department of Education ("CDE") is currently engaged in litigation withtwo non-profit associations comprised of parents and guardians of children withdisabilities. The plaintiffs in that litigation have requested numerous documents, as well as student data collected and stored by CDE, which may include personally identifiablestudent information.

To comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA"), CDE has
been ordered, among other things, to inform parents and students of the disclosure of such information. CDE has requested that school districts and SELPAs post the following link to CDE's website: http://www.cde.ca.gov/morganhillcase. The link provides a Notice and Objection form to allow parents to object, by April 1, 2016, to the disclosure of personally identifiable information related to their children.

Please understand that the district is not a party to the litigation and is not required todisclose any student information, nor does it intend to do so. For more information, please contact CDE directly at (916) 319-0800.
